Need Help With Escalating Veterinary Bills 11th Oct 2011, by Malaysian Dogs Deserve Better
Dear people,we are in the red again due to the escalating veterinary bills. We owe all the five clinics we go to an estimated total amount of about RM67, 000. In addition to this we are also saddled with operational costs of RM3,000 every month to run our half-way-home. Generally, most of the people who 'rescue' dogs and 'hand' them to us by admitting them to these clinics do not do anything after that. We do not see nor hear from them as well. If you need a receipt - please mail to malay...

True Troopers-Patients That Never Gave Up The Fight 11th Oct 2011, by Dr Rayya's Online Veterinary Journal
I am pleased to give everyone an update on ‘Gemma’. I only operated on her 10 days ago. She has bounced back and is on her way to a full recovery. Her examination showed her vitals were all okay and she is in the clear. I can not tell you how thrilled I am to see her in this state.
If she didn’t have a fighting spirit to survive and was not surrounded with a very supportive, loving and dedicated family, she would not be here today.
I of course had to pose with my beautiful girl...

The SPCA has been fortunate to receive a large number of volunteer applications on a regular basis.
Due to the influx of people interested in volunteering, we have backlogs of new volunteer applications to process, which in turn means that most volunteers will have to wait a long time before they can be rostered to help out.
In light of this, we are now only opening the application process when there are spaces made available in our volunteer program. This new system will take effect from 24...

Becoming A Pescetarian? 11th Oct 2011, by AnimalCare
It's pronounced "pes-ke-ta-rian", and it means people who add fish and seafood to their vegetarian diet. See this: http://www.healthytheory.com/why-be-pes cetarian-0If you're game on reducing your meat consumption, why not try being a pescetarian first? Pescetarians are not vegetarians, but at least they give up on eating land animals (pig, chicken, cow, goat, deer, rabbit, dog, cat, etc.)If you're pescetarian, then you can proudly display my friend, TY Lee's, car decal:Even if y...

Thank You So Much, SABS! 11th Oct 2011, by AnimalCare

I've been at my wit's end trying to get Bobby to eat, so today, I decided I'll get him Orijen Fish (for all life stages).I opened the pack and it smelled absolutely delicious....So, did he eat it?Nope.Despite the very strong aroma, nope. He wasn't the least bit attracted to it. But Cow, Bunny, Tiger, Indy and Cleo loved it!Oh well...we'll see how it goes tomorrow. Hopefully, Bobby will eat it. Giving him stir-fried chicken is not nutritious enough as there is no fibre. But so far, stir-frie...

The Rescued Cat From Walmart 10th Oct 2011, by AnimalCare
During the fair at my college recently, one my colleagues came by and we started talking. She told me about her cat. She rescued this cat at Walmart's while she was studying in the U.S. and when she came back to Malaysia, she brought the cat back. Along with this cat, she also had a dog, who also came back with her. "There was no way I was going to leave them behind", she told me. Here are photos of Peanut the Cat and Isaac the Dog. Peanut is 7 and Isaac is 6:I requested her permissio...
