Two Proud Owners, Pole And Tabs

Today, Pole is the proud owner of a new condominium.
House-warming the ground floor first.
Third floor.
I’ve given Pole Tabs’ litter-box as it is smaller than the rest of my litter-boxes and it fits right in.
Pole also has a brand new matching green water bowl fixed to the bars so that it won’t topple over.
The 2nd floor is nice too.
Pole has tried all the levels and she seems happy with it.

Help Us Name These Puppies!

Another 6 new pups were found at Old Klang road and were brought to our shelter by Shelly, Rena's friend. The 6 pups were all female, 2 months old, all has skin problem. Have brought them to Dr Tan's clinic for their first vaccination and mange jab. So far, the puppies have been named A, B, C, D, E and F. Can someone help name them? We are running out of ideas!

Ah Wong has long been cured of her TVT. This is Mrs Lai's report on our beloved Ah Wong."She looked very happy and when she saw people, she barked as laud as other dogs. I opened the door of the cage and she eagerly moved her body forward wanted to come out of the cage. I was busy tending to other dogs and when I looked at her again, half of her body hanged out. Wow! So much goodies for the furkids at the shelter!Dear Nicol and her boyfriend have donated generously to our dogs. There were 40 bags of 15 kg dog kibbles (sent by a lorry straight from the factory), 30 bottles of Chorox (she went to clean sweep all Chorox available from Tesco, she said) , one big box of canned food (30-40 cans). Dearest Subu Has Passed On

Subu, the gentle giant mastiff has left us on Sunday, 8th January 2012. She suffered from compications from her pregnancy. She was too old and could not sustain the pregnancy. The foetus died inside and resulted in toxic in her blood system. The vet has given her blood transfusion because of low platelet count , a surgery was performed to remove dead foetus but she could not make it and died the next day.Subu was not spayed as she was already old and would not be able to stand the anesthesia...

I’m almost going to freak out already, worrying if Pole made another escape attempt from the cage, but phew! She did not not.
While teaching, I did worry. What if something unexpected happened? Like maybe, someone left the sidegate open, and Cow leads everyone out, and they were now marching down the road, in single file, all seven of them, trying to find the way back to the old neighbourhood. Pole escaped again…
We thought we had it all figured out?
No, Pole is always one step ahead. And she’s smart and devious, too.
This morning, everyone had breakfast and Pole had hers in the cage. After that, I cleaned her litter-box and let her out to stretch.
Last night, when I let her out, she went to the sidegate and looked at the gap and the gate at what we thought was her escape route, or rather, what she wanted us to think.
But we were all fooled.

Supper At Bunny’s Place

The cats got up after their evening siesta and since I’m still awake marking papers and doing the laundry, and since I’ve just cooked a batch of food for tomorrow, why not give everyone a supper treat in celebration of Pole’s return?
Chicken and some other minced meats given by a friend, carrot, celery, hairy cucumber, a bit of sweet potato and pumpkin. An honest-to-goodness home-cooked meal.
It took some “rehab” to get the clan back to eating home-cooked again ...

Medical Subsidy For Fitri, Another Sporo-Cat (Myza Nordin’s)

There is also another sporo-cat, Fitri, under the responsibility of Myza Nordin, currently undergoing treatment at the same clinic where Silver is boarded.

We have subsidised RM150, which is 20% of last month’s bill of RM750. Myza has applied to three funds – AnimalCare, SCRATCH and PetFinder.my and we have agreed on a joint subsidy of 60%. Our 20% share has already been paid out to Myza.

We have subsidised RM262.50 for Silver’s treatment, which is 35% of the bill for the last month. Since Elaine has applied to SCRATCH as well, we have worked out a joint total of 70% considering the fact that Elaine is a student and she runs a small business to support herself. Elaine had initially requested for a total of 95% from both AnimalCare and SCRATCH but that would really be stretching it.
