Mickey Eats! 27th Sep 2011, by AnimalCare
Mickey, the Miracle is miraculously doing very well!I went to visit him this afternoon. Mickey was lying down, facing the wall of the cage when I entered the room and turned on the lights, but the moment he heard me, he stood up - I thought, wow...how polite of him. A perfect gentlemanly-cat. Look...he's standing up just to greet me and be polite.Hi Mickey! How are you? He's very friendly. And adorable, and it is almost like he wants to say something, to communicate. He even ...

The Blueys' Playtime 26th Sep 2011, by AnimalCare
Yesterday at breakfast, Bagheera took a piece of chicken (from Uncle Bobby's meal) and slowly chewed it all up! Baloo still keeps to her own Baby Cat kibbles. Her bacterial infected spots have completely healed now. It merely took 3 days of povidone iodine, and I'm continuing with the Vetri DMG since the weather has not been too good. Bobby finally got to his food. Bagheera has taken over Cow's duty of being the official connoisseur of breakfast. Call us Cute! Drin...

The Shah Alam Buddhist Society (SABS) invited me for a talk entitled "The Story of AnimalCare" yesterday. Visiting Karuna 26th Sep 2011, by AnimalCare
Karuna was a very old female stray dog rescued by Chong in a dying condition. She had been bitten and attacked by a pack of wild dogs and when rescued, could not even move. We thought she was already paralysed. To cut a very long story short, Karuna was sent for treatment and her medical treatment and spaying was jointly sponsored from our funds and the temple where she was rescued.Upon discharged, Karuna went back to the temple, but I felt sorry for her being so alone at the temple, so I a...

A Male Cat Neutered (Francis Tze) 26th Sep 2011, by AnimalCare
Francis Tze was one of the very first person I spoke to and who agreed to participate on our One-Street CNRM. On his own, he feeds the stray cats (now community cats) on his street, which coincidentally, is the street I'm moving to at the end of this year. Every morning, Francis brings kibbles all neatly packed in newspapers. The cats come running when they see him (I witnessed this when I visited the site), he feeds them, and then, he cleans up the place and packs all the food back. S...

Meeting Wii...!! 26th Sep 2011, by AnimalCare
Wii was my rescue....some four years ago. Wii was rescued together with his sister, Vixey, from a rubbish heap in October 2007. Vixey turned out to be a pygmy kitten (with congenital growth retardation) and I nursed her for two years until she passed away of kidney failure. After Vixey's passing, Wii exiled himself to my back alley and simply refused to come home except for food. He would come home 5-6 times a day whenever he heard me in the kitchen.Wii was terrified of my alphas (Cow &...

Mickey, Suspected Ruptured Bladder (Cheang Ng P L's Case) 26th Sep 2011, by AnimalCare
Cheang Ng Phaik Ling called me today regarding an emergency case of a recently adopted cat who could not urinate. An appointment was made at our panel vet and I met Cheang at the vet's immediately after work today. When I reached the clinic, Cheang was already there with Mickey, the cat. Apparently, the vet was trying to look for Mickey's penis but could not find one. Cheang said Mickey is always "wet" (probably dripping urine). But where is his penis? The vet pressed the surrounding a...
