See You Later, Alligator….(we’re Migrating!) 12th Nov 2011, by AnimalCare
Hello folks,
There will be no postings from now (Saturday, 1.00pm) until Monday (or earlier), as we are doing a migration from our Blogger to WordPress. This is all thanks to Huey and Wah, who have offered us free webhosting under Wah’s company, GeekyHost. Huey has been working with me (or more accurately, she has been doing all the hard work while I was only giving instructions and requesting this and that!) for more than a week now to set up the new website.
So, there will probably be ...

PayPal Charges A Commission Plus Another Fee 12th Nov 2011, by AnimalCare
Dear all,
We thank everyone who has been donating to us, and after we set up a PayPal donation facility, some local donors have also started using PayPal without realising that it is a lot more cost-effective to just pay the RM2 interbank bank transfer (if you do not have an account with PBB) than to pay PayPal’s commission.
I had initially thought the commission was about 4%, but this is not so for smaller amounts. It could be as high as 8%! Our latest two donations of RM50 and...

How To Pill A Cow (again!) 12th Nov 2011, by AnimalCare
I must confess it was my mistake to call Cow “Cow”, but he was from my first-ever litter of rescued kittens (along with Bunny and Pole), so I did not know what to name them. I wanted to name them “big names” so that they would survive and Cow did have the markings of a typical Australian Jersey Cow…..By the way, Bunny’s first name was Yeti. Along the way, he became “Bunny” and he’s turn out to be our largest cat now! Well, so much for names,...

Stop The Killing Of Street Dogs In Ukraine (From HSI) 12th Nov 2011, by AnimalCare
This is from Humane Society International:Unbelievably, street dogs in Ukraine are being poisoned in a terribly misguided effort to rid the streets of them in time for the Euro 2012 soccer championships. Meat laced with poison is being left out for the animals to consume, resulting in their prolonged and agonizing deaths.
This cruel and ineffective method of controlling street dog populations must be stopped. Join Humane Society International in protest and tell the Ukrainian president...

JUSTICE'S SURGERY 11th Nov 2011, by Malaysian Dogs Deserve Better
Dear all,Justice is going in for his surgery tomorrow (SAT, NOV 12) and we ask of you to channel healing thoughts his way. What has happened to Justice is a very sad reflection of the blatant disregard people have for dogs here.We are still not able to fathom the reasoning, if any can be given at all, behind why so much anger was directed towards a puppy. How could anyone inflict such an injury which has severed his spinal column and chord into two?The force that had been exerted t...

We wish Catherina strength, calm and peace in her heart. Time heals. Meanwhile, Catherina has already Frontlined all her other cats.
