We have named the neck injury dog Noel. He had a huge amount of maggots in his neck and they were still digging them out this evening. His blood count was also drastically low given the extent of his neck infection and the amount of maggots feasting on him. So, there are two people who are saying it was wrong to euthanise Sendayan Girl because 'she was eating.' She is eating because she has been pumped up with pain killers. To these people, here is an easy explanation: Sendayan Girl has an invasive form of cancer. She was admitted atca vet since April and underwent chemotherapy for a month. There were still no changes. Fishing nets are a hazard to painted terrapins, as they can get trapped in them, unable to surface. As terrapins breathe with lungs, they need to surface in order to obtain oxygen. Once a terrapin is trapped in a fishing net, if not quickly rescued, it will eventually drown.

Our beautiful Sandy passed away in her sleep last night. The cancer had spread to her lungs and ravaged her old body. Sandy is extra special.
She came to us in a batch of 18 dogs that were rendered homeless after their owner commited suicide in early 2014. She was the mother of 16 of the dogs that belonged to various litters.
