LUCKY Who Was Not So Lucky 16th Mar 2012, by Malaysian Dogs Deserve Better
A young lady called us more than a week ago saying that there were three puppies and their mother at the car park of her condo. One of the three puppies was unable to move as it appeared to have suffered a back injury and bruises to its back legs. She also told us that whenever the resideents fed them, the two healthy puppies would bring food over to be shared with their injured sibling. Leslie went to the location and got the puppies - one was adopted last week and another will be put up for ad...

Hello, my name is Lily. I was rescued from Puchong and have been in Second Chance since. In human years, I am two years old. My friend, Lala was adopted by Ben not too long ago. We were very good friends and always had each other to play with. But now that Lala has found a new home.. I am lonely! I am looking for an owner who will love and care for me. And in return, I will do the same for them. I am a quiet and gentle girl. But I am also friendly and... and, I can be 'manja' with people I care ...

Thank You, Dr Goh 16th Mar 2012, by Second Chance
Dr Goh visited the shelter one week ago (9th March 2012). It was a very hot day and needless to say, the shelter was hot too. And yet, Dr Goh still took the time to drop by.. Madam Wong (picture below) was also given her weekly jab to reduce the growth/tumour in her anus part. You can read more about what tricks Madam Wong can do here or read about how she has been doing lately here. She is actually a distemper survivor who was rescued by one of our volunteers, Sam. Dr Goh, hard at work.. A ...

Updates On 16th Mar 2012 16th Mar 2012, by SPCA Selangor
Update on Salak Selatan dog: SPCA Inspectors visited the premises on March 12, but the owner wasn't in so they left a notice for the owner to contact them asap. They made a follow up visit on March 14, but the owner claimed the dog had passed away the day before. She says a neighbour informed her that another neighbour had poured hot water on the dog when she wasn't around (as the dog is kept outside the compound and easily accessible.) She does not want to pursue any legal action, and isn't off...

Madame Wong & My Dog-Sick Syndrome (DSS) 16th Mar 2012, by Second Chance
Harlow peeps! It's been a while since I last blogged about Madame Wong. My bad my bad.... as i hardly ever get the chance (and time) going to the shelter since I have relocated to Singapore. Being in Singapore is extremely tough for me because I am forever homesick (missing my family) and dog-sick! I am missing not only my Super 8. Yeah! I have 32 paws (8 dos x 4 paws!) back in KL and every dog owner, especially the doggie fanatic should be able to feel the difference of Life with & wi...

Ofie Updates (Ng Chen Chen’s) 16th Mar 2012, by AnimalCare
Just as I was about to ask about Ofie, Chen sent this:
Hi Kah Yein,
There have been more Ofie sightings and it’s always from the residents living along one particular street in Damansara Utama. Connie has been going there everyday, but Ofie still refuses to turn up when called. She even tried going there at night, but also no success because it’s too dark especially along the back alleys.
Will keep you updated!
Chen
Keep those positive vibes coming, folks!!

Updates On Karuna (from The Uncle) 16th Mar 2012, by AnimalCare
One of our friends visited Karuna at Uncle’s house and reports that Karuna is doing very well. She still has her old-age cough, but is otherwise a happy dog.
She has her own special place in Uncle’s house, and Uncle says it is alright that she pees and poos all over since she is an “old lady”.
Our grand “old lady” has also become the “queen” in Uncle’s house, dominating the rest of the dogs.
Uncle has made a little make-shift kennel for Karun...

A Bed Of Thorns, Part 8 15th Mar 2012, by AnimalCare
Ref: http://myanimalcare.org/2012/03/15/a-bed-of- thorns-part-7/
You would have read from Part 7 that the Hoarder had somehow changed her mind and decided to retract her statement to our volunteer. Her husband texted me to say she will be keeping all her animals until “such a time when it is unavoidable”.
I told him we may not be able to help her at “such a time” because my resources don’t come that easily. Right now, PAWS is willing to take as many of her animal...

A Bed Of Thorns, Part 7 15th Mar 2012, by AnimalCare
I received an email from the Kawan today saying that they have discussed our offer to relocate as many of her (the Hoarder’s) animals as we possibly can. The Kawan urged her to think over carefully first.
Hence, there is still no reply so far.
Here are photos taken by our volunteer at the Hoarder’s shelter yesterday.
A very large piece of land.
Brave yourself now…scroll down.
Some of the dogs are chained even though they are in enclosures.

The Rescue And Rehoming Of Puss (Liyana Ismail’s) 15th Mar 2012, by AnimalCare
Here’s a very touching sharing by Liyana:
Dear Dr. Chan,
I like to share with you the story of a kitten that I rescued few weeks ago.I found it all alone, tiny, and thin.It was all bone, skin and fur. I picked it up, walk around the area to find its mother, but couldn’t find her. After that, I bring it back to my place and feed it. The kitten eat heartily, almost choking itself because the kibbles is too big and the kitten too hungry that it hardly chew it. I put some water in cont...
