Sunnies’ Photos!!! (from Rozita Halim)
22nd Mar 2012, by AnimalCare

Something that cheers me up the most is when adopters send me photos and news of the little kittens I’ve had the privilege of fostering. Rozita Halim adoped the Sunnies from me last year, and they have been thriving under her and her family’s loving care. Let’s look at some flashback photos first:  The day they arrived. A student found them abandoned in a box by the roadside in KL. I blogged for fosterers; there were no takers. So, they came to me.  I called them Rex, Fox a...

A Kitten Dumper’s Modus Operandi (from A Reader)
21st Mar 2012, by AnimalCare

From one of our readers: Yesterday, there is this indian foreign worker that rode a bicycle and dump kittens at various locations at my housing area. I heard a kitten meowing while I was bathing my dog. When I went out to have a look, I saw this little fella trying to cross the busy street in front of my house. I picked the kitten up, not sure what to do. After abt 20 mins or so, there’s this loud meowing again passing by my house. Saw this indian fella riding cycling towards a small road...

Today our job was to inspire youths to take action for animals, at a Service Learning Fair organised by Nanyang Junior College. Thank you to the organisers for inviting ACRES, and to our student helpers who looked after us so well!

Bunny Stamps His Approval And Mr G Returns!!
21st Mar 2012, by AnimalCare

Ever since the night Bunny let out his war cry at the Stargate, Mr G had not dared to come down for food.  Every time I feed my brood, he would be mewing, either on the roof or on the ledge.  Yes, day and night. I was quite sad that Mr G didn’t dare come down for food at the Stargate anymore. But my husband said it’s all about cat politics. Bunny has made the rule, and this is Bunny’s territory and Mr G, as gentlemanly as he is, has to obey. That’s the way it is with ...

21st Mar 2012, by AnimalCare

We have subsidized RM80 for the neutering of February, a male cat, rescued by Dawn Tan On Thursday (23Feb12), I found February sitting at the restaurant downstairs, calling for food. He was a good looking cat with a collar, but no ID tag. The restaurant owner said February had been around for a few days, but no one had come around the shops looking for a lost cat. So it looked like this was another abandoned case. Februaryhad the symptom of a cat that had been starving for a long time &#...

Sunshine Goes For A Swim! (Lydia’s)
21st Mar 2012, by AnimalCare

Happy news from Lydia: Sunshine is doing well and still shows signs of improvement. She still spends half her time outdoors and half indoors. This is because even though she seems to use her hind legs almost normally, she still knuckles on the odd step and when she is outdoors, the effect is more obvious as she gets abrasion sores that form rather quickly within a day. Currently she still needs constant daily monitoring and checking of her legs to keep any new abrasions in check. If she is o...
