Bunny Limps… 22nd Dec 2011, by AnimalCare
Gosh, could it be the calicivirus?
Bunny went out this morning, after breakfast and I later found him under a car.
With Bunny, it may be easier as he loves food.
So, I brought some Fussie Cat out and put it next to him (he was within reach, but he’s so heavy, I don’t think I can drag him out).
Out came the Bunnyphant….and I let him eat up all the Fussie Cat before gently grabbing him.
He complained a bit, of course.
Inside the house, I let him go and that’s when I noticed...

Indy Eats On His Own!!! 22nd Dec 2011, by AnimalCare
Indy slept on our bed all of last night. I woke up a few times throughout the night to check on him and his body did not feel overly warm. I was worried the fever would escalate in the night.
This morning I woke to find him walking around the room, as though waiting for me. It was already “late” by my standards, 6.30am. I”m exhausted with all the rushing around and especially the worry, and I need sleep to recover.
I went into the bathroom and Indy followed. He definitely looks...

Adoption Spotlight 21st Dec 2011, by SPCA Singapore
This 7yo German Shepherd was given up because she did not bark! Sweet, gentle Kira wants a lifelong friend and will be a loyal companion to the last. Just don't ask her to bark ferociously at everybody. That's not her at all.
Check out our other lovely dogs for adoption on http://www.spca.org.sg/gallerydog1.html.
* Please spread the word and share this post.

Picks Of Week - Couldn't Choose So 2 This Week! - Carbon & Kina 21st Dec 2011, by SPCA Penang
Carbon is my name, true black is not really my colour as you can see. I have highlights of different shades of brown depending on where the sunlight falls. I had my sister with me at the shelter and she was adopted. Now I want my own home too. Surely you won’t let me stay here forever?I am so easy to look after. A crushed plastic bottle and a rope to play with and I become one happy puppy. Of course give me a home with my own family to be with and I will be one of the happiest puppies ever. Oh...

Lost Dog
Description:
2 year old female dog.
White with light brown markings.
Blue collar with dog license.
Best friend to 7 year old boy.
Dear Penangites,
I lost my dog on 13 December 2011 at about 4.30pm.
We were at a farm near Batu Hitam, Balik Pulau, 2km from the Sacred Heart
Convent School in Balik Pulau.
I told my dad to take her with us to town instead of leaving her in the farm.
Then when we got back to the farm, she was not there.
This is what happens when dad doesn’t listen!
If yo...

Right Back Into It :-) 18th Dec 2011, by Dr Rayya's Online Veterinary Journal
I was pretty excited about going back to work. I really missed doing what I do best: ‘treating my sweet patients’. I was scheduled to do surgeries that morning and I did not have much on. I first had to desex ‘Milky‘.
She was found to be in season and her uterus was fairly enlarged and vascular.
Surgery went smoothly but then she developed very pale gums a few hours post operatively. Unfortunately, that un-nerved me and I felt compelled to go back into surgery to mak...

A Note From One Of Our Volunteers 18th Dec 2011, by SPCA Penang
"As volunteers working with the dogs on a regular basis, we try not to have favourites but that's almost impossible. Sometimes we find it difficult to understand why some dogs/puppies/cats/kittens are not quickly adopted. This is a plea for Gypsie. She may not be a puppy (now about 4 years old) but she is the most incredibly good natured dog. Well behaved, well trained, unbelievably patient with puppies - a wonderful enhancement to any home - and gorgeous looking! She's alread...
