Erythropoietin For Baggy
10th Aug 2012, by AnimalCare

Took me a whole morning and many phonecalls, but I’ve finally got the erythropoietin for Baggy. Baggy lost another 0.05kg today. We’ve given her the first erythropoietin jab. Have to wait for 3-5 days for the body to respond. Praying hard this will help. I’ve spoken to three vets – all three did not recommend blood transfusion because it is just “buying time” and does not address the cause. Thank you everyone, for all your help.

Anaemia In Cats – Looking For Erythropoietin For Baggy
9th Aug 2012, by AnimalCare

I found this site: http://www.floppycats.com/anemia-in-cats.ht ml Also, if you happen to let your cat outdoors, you might notice an odd behavior of licking rain water or melted snow. They are craving minerals if they are anemic, and try to acquire such minerals from those sources. This explains why Baggy was licking the spade, the soil, and today, she only wanted to drink water from the tiles and not from a container. Maybe she thought it was rain water. I’m trying to get the drug Erythr...

Baggy Thanks Everyone For The Positive Wishes
9th Aug 2012, by AnimalCare

Ref: http://myanimalcare.org/2012/08/09/baggy-has -leukemia-and-there-is-little-hope-left/ Baggy was diagnosed with leukemia this afternoon (the blood test showed a “strong positive”) and the vet says the prognosis was very poor even based on the paleness of her mucous membrane and gums. The severity of her condition came as a shock to me as she had not shown any signs of weakness except for the paleness. But we are definitely not giving up and currently, Baggy is on steroids, Hi-Vi...

Baggy Has Leukemia (and The Prognosis Is Poor)
9th Aug 2012, by AnimalCare

My worst fears were realised today and it explains why Baggy has been losing weight and is still very pale. Baggy is FeLV positive. Her blood PCV is only 8% now. She is extremely pale. The vet says she is already dying and there is nothing we can do. The only thing we can give to help her is Prednisolone (steroids), RetroMAD1 and a liver supplement called Hi-Vite. The Doxycycline will have to be continued as well. I’m also giving her AD. The vet says she is very pale and her body is not ma...
