Bunny The Dogherd
24th Mar 2012, by AnimalCare

I didn’t manage to take a video of this, but it was just so, so cute…  Bobby was banging his head on the grille, trying to get out and the cats didn’t quite know what to do. Until, Bunny came to the rescue. He went in front of Bobby, placed his ample-sized body between Bobby and the grille so that Bobby would bang into his body instead and then, he butted Bobby with his head until Bobby backed away from the grille…to safety. Gosh, it was so cute, it reminded me of the d...

Take a look at yesterday’s photos:  Our evening guest has arrived!  Mr G gets a bowl this time.    The Chief of Staff is always present.  Relaxing after the meal.  Relaxing, too. No words need to be spoken. That’s how we cats hang out. Mr G’s our friend.  Yes, Tiger, we know. That’s how we...

Pups In Need Of Home : Winnie And Vincci
23rd Mar 2012, by Second Chance

Winnie and Vincci were one month old when they were found in the middle of a road in Cheras. A passerby took pity and rescued them when their mother was run over by a car. They were cared for by him in his apartment for few nights before sending to our shelter. Aren’t their floppy ears just adorable? And what about their soulful eyes, pleading you to take them home with you… Please do write to us if you like to adopt them.

Subsidy For Spaying A Female Cat (Kirstine Tan’s/David Tan’s)
23rd Mar 2012, by AnimalCare

Ref: http://myanimalcare.org/2012/02/20/a-female- cat-spayed-david-tans/ This would be the 8th cat we have subsidised for Kirstine and her father, David Tan. It looks very similar to the 7th cat – Kirstine says this 8th cat has given birth so many times that the 7th cat must be her daughter. And apparently, there are so many stray cats in neighbourhood, she says it’s lucky that we insist on ear-notching or she won’t even remember which cat has already been spayed. We would als...

The THREE Questions
23rd Mar 2012, by SPCA Sarawak

There are many people who insist that we accept their unwanted pets or healthy strays which they do not want around their area but none of them can answer all 3 questions. 1. How many of your friends and relatives own animals? 2. How many of these animal owners actually love their pets? Will spend money on giving them GOOD food, send them to vets when they're sick, allocate time each day to play with their pets, have families who love and support keeping pets, etc.. 3. And out of those w...

Have you sat in a car without the air con while filling up the car with gas? It gets hot really fast, doesn’t it. Can you imagine what it must be like for a dog ( with all that fur) being left in a car? Please do not leave any pets in your car unattended! Even at night time. It is always wiser to take your pet along with you when you leave the car or bring them back and settle them comfortably at home before doing any errands. *Please share this all your wall.

Subsidy For The Spaying Of A Female Cat (Thong Nook Lin’s)
22nd Mar 2012, by AnimalCare

We have subsidised RM100 for the spaying of a female cat, brought in by retiree, Thong Nook Lin. Mdm Thong was visiting her father at the old folks home and this is a cat fed by the people in the home. They were worried the cat would get pregnant so they tied her up. Mdm Thong offered to get the cat spayed instead and brought the cat to our former panel vet who told her about our subsidy scheme. The vet even helped her fill up the form (I’ve left our subsidy forms at both our former panel ...

Indy Attempts An Escape…and Fails (shh…)
22nd Mar 2012, by AnimalCare

Two days ago, after breakfast, Indy was no where to be found. I looked high and low, and high again, and…  Indy!! What are you doing up there? Clearly, he was bored of being on dry land, so he thought he’d see if there was a way out.  Might was well let him try so that he knows there was no way out…or was there?  Nope, no way out. Our masked hero returns to dry land.  And took it out on the poor (toy) caterpillar head. It’s a softtoy (has catnip) and they dismembe...

More Litter Tales
22nd Mar 2012, by AnimalCare

A friend gave me a packet of cat litter to try the other day… It is a Japanese brand and everything was in Japanese so I didn’t know what it contained.  It’s supposed to clump very well. Unfortunately, it has very, very strong perfume.  And only Tabs used it. But the clumping is fantastic, even better than Ever Clean. However, I don’t want to use perfumed litter and I do wonder what chemical is used for the excellent clumping.  Oh, oh…you’re not going to...
