12 more hours before ACRES signs a landmark MOU with the Lao Zoo for the establishment of the first Wildlife Rescue and Education Centre in Vientiane, Lao PDR. The ACRES Wildlife Rescue and Education Centre will provide sanctuary to mainly bears! The MOU ceremony will be witnessed by H.E. Dr. Thongloun Sisoulith, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of the Lao PDR and Mr. K Shanmugam, Singapore’s Minister for Foreign Affairs and Minster for Law.

Pak Din’s House Is All “upgraded” Now!

After three days’ work, Connie James’ workers, Panjang and Riyanto, have completed the work.
We’d like to thank Connie, Panjang and Riyanto for all their efforts at helping Pak Din!
I met Chew today, and he said the dogs are secure inside the area now and there is no more danger of them escaping anymore. Chew is relieved!

Two Rescued Kittens In Need Of A Home, One With A Leg Chopped Off (Bernice And Donovan’s)

Last night, Bernice managed to rescue two kittens (from a litter of five), and one was discovered to have had a leg chopped off (but it looked like an old wound).

MONKEY, a real fighter boy that recovered from a sickly condition, dumped by irresponsible people. Sweet boy with a lil' black strip on its tail, he limps a little due to a right-angled paw that may have been broken when young.

We are deeply saddened to hear this and we extend our deepest condolences to DT and Gandhi’s rescuer, Choy-Foong, who is currently back in the U.S.

Rescued Female Cat, For Adoption (Prem’s)

Prem (017-6228452) rescued a female cat from the street and the cat was found to be mangy. The cat is currently receiving treatment from the vet, ie. the first mange jab has been administered.
The cat is eating well (actually, very well, as she appears to be very hungry) but currently, is a bit too thin to be spayed. As soon as the cat puts on weight, she will be spayed.
Prem is looking for a home for this cat as she cannot adopt anymore.
The cat is expected to need about 3 more mange jabs.
