Sharing The Sunsuper Dreams Prize (if We Win!) 14th Jan 2012, by AnimalCare
When James Blackwell first nominated us for the Sunsuper Dreams Prize, my first thought was that IF we win, we will share part of the prize money with other no-kill animal NGOs. We all know how much we need this money to carry on our work.
But I had to read the terms and conditions first to ascertain if that is allowed and also to seek the consent of James Blackwell since this is his dream and he was the one who nominated us.
James says “ok” and he’s glad we’d like to sha...

After not having walked on his own for almost a week, this afternoon, Indy walked out on his own to eat!
I had been carrying Indy out a few times a day to pee and poo for the last few days ever since he developed that limp again.
Here’s Indy walking out to eat!
Pee-ing while Bunny sniffs a leaf.
Cleo is still gazing at the Stargate, to help her mum devise new ways to escape?
It’s a long pee. Ever since being ill, Indy only pees once a day.
Grooming hims...

Vote Only Once, Please 14th Jan 2012, by AnimalCare
Sorry I’ve been so busy I had not read the Terms and Conditions for the Sunsuper Dreams contest.
Friends had been telling me they could vote a few times with different email addresses, so I thought that was possible, but it is not, if you read the Terms and Conditions.
Each person is only supposed to vote once. It says that creation of multiple email addresses to vote many times is not allowed. So let’s not do that, please.
As suggested by Devakie and Maxx, let’s just create a ...

If we want to win, we’re going to need all your help, folks.
This is Maxx/James Blackwell’s suggestions:

We are now down to 3rd place and i have tried my absolute best to share it on overseas animal rescue sites but didn’t get much response. Would you be able to create an event on AnimalCare FB page and invite all your supporters to vote for you? also ask them to...

Pole Escapes Again…sigh….(she Came Back!!!) 14th Jan 2012, by AnimalCare
I was very, very tired after giving a talk last night and I had meant to only take a nap, but ended up sleeping until now. When I came back last night, I had let Pole out of the condo. She seemed happy.
When I woke up just now, it was already 6am. I realised I had slept through the night without putting Pole back into the condo.
I looked out, and my worst fears were realised. Pole was gone. I checked every possible loophole I could find, and they were not forced open. How could she have gone out...

“Major” Update 13th Jan 2012, by Dr Rayya's Online Veterinary Journal
What a day it has been. I walked into the clinic and there was this 3 weeks premature born cria (baby alpaca) that required urgent attention. It was so weak and struggling to breathe. We started with offering her aggressive supportive therapy-warming her up, passing a gastric tube to feed her and then even maintained her on some oxygen. She was still deteriorating so I put in an intravenous catheter and started her on IV fluids. She perked up and her temperature fi...

YIKES, FOOD CRISIS LOOMING AHEAD. 13th Jan 2012, by Malaysian Dogs Deserve Better
Dear all,we have only 15 bags of 10kg rice packets and 30 kgs of kibbles left at the half-way-house. This was from the batch we raised in Oct. Adoption has been slow and the number of dogs at the HWH is overwhelming. We need about 15 kgs of rice and 12 kgs of chicken liver daily to feed our HWH residents and our outside strays. We are also finding it difficult to source for liver on a daily basis due to the big amount and need a freezer and a fridge to store food. We also desperately need...
