Coco: After 7 hours of administering RetroMAD1, she is much more energetic, walking up and down the length of the house and playfully hopping after the broom. Still will not eat on her own but she did manage 2 or 3 kibbles. Will be forcefeeding her AD shortly. She meowed at everyone this morning, too.
Flower: Still hanging on.

Mass Vaccination Day

Dr Goh came to our shelter on 13/1/2012 ( Friday) to do a mass vaccination, about 50 of our dogs were given annual booster jabs. Thanks to Dr Goh for his patience and understanding because it was not easy to chase after and catch the dogs for the prickly procedure.Somo and Pearly were the hardest pair to get hold of, not to mention trying to hold them steady! Somo turned many rounds inside the cage for fear of Dr Goh and uncle and aunty Kiew, but after a while he got exhausted and wanted to rest...

Flower, Cat With Feline Panleukopenia (Cat Parvovirus) (Anita’s)

This morning, a rescuer by the name of Anita, texted me regarding two cats with “mysterious” symptoms. The brother started vomiting clear liquid, which changed to yellow vomit and subsequently died.
Now, the sister, named Flower, also showed the same symptoms.
I’m not a vet, so I cannot comment, but could only advise that Anita sends Flowers quickly to a vet for proper tests and a professional diagnosis. The rescuer sent Flower to a vet in PJ.

The Last Of The Pole-Proofing

Finally, the contractor came this morning and we proceeded to Pole-proof the last of the possible Poleways of escape!
I explained how Pole manages to escape from the clothes line to the water pipe, to the gutter and the roof.
We’d use another piece of polycarbonate to seal off this exit, the contractor says.

Indy was up and about this morning. He walked out by himself for breakfast and after breakfast, he JUMPED (yes, JUMPED) up onto the highest shelf of the Cat Apartments in the room (his former favourite perch while at the old house) and has stayed there since.

Da Jie, Female Cat Spayed In Melaka (Catherina Tay’s)

Catherina Tay recently sent another one of her female street cats whom she looks after to be spayed under our subsidy scheme.
This time, Catherina has re-donated the RM100 back to our fund in memory of her late father, Mr TAY KIM SIAH (passed away on 19/1/2001) and also in memory of her cat, ROCKET (passed away 19/1/2011) in conjunction with their deaths anniversary on 19th January.

Terry Needs Blood Tests Done Before Neutering (Jennifer SL Leong’s)

Previously, we had just subsidsed Terry’s dental procedure.

Playtime At Bunny’s Place!

I think Pole has more or less settled (keeping my fingers crossed) now. She does not star-gaze anymore nowadays and has not attempted any escapades so far.
The contractor still has not turned up, so the gutter Poleway is not Pole-proofed yet.
This afternoon, Pole had a good game of hide-and-seek with Tabs!
It’s so good to see Pole having fun AND making friends.
They were chasing each other all over the garden.

Indy’s Starts Acupuncture Again…

Today was Indy’s acupuncture with Dr Susanna.
Indy went first…followed by Bobby, who objected a bit, then didn’t quite know what was going on (like, oh well, do what you must….).
The easy one.
The moment Indy was done and put into the carrier for the 25 mins, he pulled one needle out with his teeth.
Tabs kept him company and wouldn’t have minded if she had a needle or two. The girl is completely adorable.

Eating Home-Cooked Meals

Ever since Dr Susanna told me how important nutrition is for the cats and all other animals under our care, I immediately switched over to home-cooked food for my brood. I started with wetfood to make the transition and the next day, I immediately cooked for them.

This dog was found loitering in Taman Evergreen 5 area for a few days. He has a blue collar and a metal chain on him when picked by the SPCA.
