Indy’s Starts Acupuncture Again… 19th Jan 2012, by AnimalCare
Today was Indy’s acupuncture with Dr Susanna.
Indy went first…followed by Bobby, who objected a bit, then didn’t quite know what was going on (like, oh well, do what you must….).
The easy one.
The moment Indy was done and put into the carrier for the 25 mins, he pulled one needle out with his teeth.
Tabs kept him company and wouldn’t have minded if she had a needle or two. The girl is completely adorable.
Dr Susanna says Indy is very anaemic. Today, she did hi...

Eating Home-Cooked Meals 19th Jan 2012, by AnimalCare
Ever since Dr Susanna told me how important nutrition is for the cats and all other animals under our care, I immediately switched over to home-cooked food for my brood. I started with wetfood to make the transition and the next day, I immediately cooked for them.
Spurred and greatly encouraged by the fact that it took the good doctor THREE years to convert her fussy half-Persian, Mitzi, to switch from kibble to home-cooked, I thought I must not give up this time.
The heavens were shining on me,...

Indy Goes To The Vet’s 18th Jan 2012, by AnimalCare
My vet said he had contacted a clinic which has the toxoplasmosis test kit and I could send Indy to him to get blood and then send the blood over to the clinic for the test. That way, Indy would not have to endure the stress of travelling too far in the car.
So, the appointment was set for today, afternoon.
However, we tried twice, but Indy was just too stressed out to allow the blood to be taken. The blood had to be drawn from the jugular vein, which is at the neck, and this was too traumatic ...

Tales We’d Like To Hear – CNRM-Ers Going Strong 18th Jan 2012, by AnimalCare
Many months ago, XY Soo wrote to me about wanting to do something for the street animals. We got talking and of course, I shared with him about CNRM and how I went about starting AnimalCare. I offered XY Soo our medical sponsorship/subsidy should he wish to start doing CNRM at his place, but at the same time, I also encouraged him to just use our model and start his own small group (just like us).
Now, many months down the road, he has something going already.
Read about it:
Hi Dr. Chan,
It has ...

Subsidy For Terry, Rescued Dog With Gum Problem (Jennifer SL Leong’s) 18th Jan 2012, by AnimalCare
From Jennifer in December 2011:
Terry was spotted in SS3 a few days before I took
him over on 30 September 2011. A student took him in after witnessing
him being chased away by the neighbourhood people. The student’s
mother did not allow her to keep and they also have an existing dog.
She posted for help for a few days and no one came to her rescue until
I saw her comment on Facebook that she will release the dog to the
street again. Immediately, we make contacts and arranged to pic...
