The dog Mocha has undergone surgery and is on the road to recovery - the total cost has come up to about RM2,500. We would be grateful for sponsorship of this dog. 3rd Feb 2012, by AnimalCare

From: Ms. Mak girli29@hotmail.com Message: Hi, We have this stray cat that we have been feeding for quite a while now but it didn’t come home for a couple of weeks. Last week, the cat finally came home, in bad condition. It’s very skinny now (previously it was normal size, healthy) and very bonny. The worst part is that it lost its ‘voice’ and smells really bad. The odor is that of a dead rat or something rotten. We have been feeding it but from our observation, it seems to have trouble ...

Be Very Vigilant And Choosy When Doing Adoptions – A Sharing
3rd Feb 2012, by AnimalCare

A sharing from Koo: Hi Dr Chan, Usually, I don’t like to forward or share stories of animal abuse/torture/killings because there is no moral or educational value to do so. But I saw your comment about underground dog meat restaurants in Puchong and it got me thinking how they get their dogs which I’m sure have to be disease-free to be edible. Could it be that some rescuers may be inadvertently supplying lost and healthy dogs to fake caregivers out there who somehow managed to get...

The First RM300 For Blackey (Sha’s)
3rd Feb 2012, by AnimalCare

We have just transferred the first RM300 (from Sau Yee and Alida Mahyuddin) to Sha (Wan Rozima) to start Blackey off on her sporo treatment in Kedah. We are confident the vet in Kedah will do all he can to help Blackey heal. Sporotrichosis is a treatable disease and does not have to be a death sentence unless it is in a very, very bad or late stage where the body cannot heal anymore and medication cannot help. Even then, we can still try. We are happy Sha has decided to get Blackey treated in Ke...
