Spaying Subsidy For 1 Female Cat (Lim Swee Yen’s) 10th May 2012, by AnimalCare
We have subsidised RM100 for this case from Lim Swee Yen.
From:
Lim Swee Yen
sweeyenlim@yahoo.com
Mes sage:
Dear Dr.Chan,
I would like to apply for a subsidy to spay a female cat. This cat is
from Taman Beringin, Jinjang. She is one of the many cats in that area
and the population is increasing dramatically as people there do not
believe in spaying their cats. An owner of a mini market has been
feeding this cat. I talked to him and seeked for his permission to
spay this cat. Thankfully, he all...

Thank You, Malay Mail (but We Do Not Subsidise Grooming) 10th May 2012, by AnimalCare
A journalist from the Malay Mail contacted me sometime last month. He was interested in doing an article on our work. So, I was told to provide a write-up on our work, which I did.
His write-up was published today, and we’d like to thank the journalist very much for publicising our work.
However, for the benefit of all who have read the article, I wish to clarify here that there is a minor error in Paragraph 2, Line 2 – we do NOT subsidise grooming. No where in my write-up did I say ...

Click Here To Save The Amazon! 10th May 2012, by WWF Malaysia
The Brazilian Congress has just passed a catastrophic forestry bill that gives loggers and farmers free rein to cut down huge swaths of the Amazon. Now only President Dilma can stop it. She has until 25 May to veto all or part of the bill - or let it become law. The urgent nature of the threat has prompted WWF to join forces with Greenpeace and the online advocacy group Avaaz to issue a global call to action - urging President Dilma Rousseff to veto the entire bill. Please sign the Avaaz petitio...

Baby Mayo Is Doing Fine (from Bernice And Donovan) 9th May 2012, by AnimalCare
Here are some updates from Bernice:
Baby Mayo is doing ok. He/she is really feisty for a kitten that does not drink a lot of milk. Mayo will just suckle the bottle for a few seconds at a time and then kick and cry, so i do many small feeds. Mayo is also hard to put down to sleep, and i have to hold him/her on my chest and walk around until sleep comes. Sorta like a human child
Mayo has fleas as well and i have applied frontline. Little one is walking around at the moment….:)
And Donovan:...

Updates On 9th May 2012 9th May 2012, by Animal Concerns Research & Education Society (ACRES)
Villa, a young pigeon, was found on an overhead bridge.
Alert without visible disabilities or injuries, Villa, who was seen with two other pigeons this afternoon, was nicely fed by something other then the untouched bread given by the caller. Her crop was nice and full!
The rescue team decided to leave Villa there as her family was discovered roosting right under the bridge.
Big thanks to the caller and her mother who will help continue to look out for her!

Dear Dr Chan,
A nice girl by the name of Dyana Sofya came today to adopt both Cali3.5 and Snowy. Although we miss the 2 little fellas already, we are really happy that they both found a home together. She actually got news of their existence from myanimalcare.org.

In Loving Memory Of Blackey (from Sha, Her Caregiver) 9th May 2012, by AnimalCare
Blackey passed away suddenly yesterday, while undergoing treatment at the vet’s. We extend our deepest condolences to Sha and hope she will be comforted that Blackey’s suffering is now over and that she is in a better place.
When death happens, the deceased’s suffering is over. And ours begin. Here’s when we have to give ourselves time to grieve, to accept the reality, to heal and to move on. All this takes time, and there is no point urging a grieving person to let go wh...
