STOLEN: HOPE's Mascot Chow Chow, Brownny

LOST & STOLEN: HOPE Johor's lovely mascot doggy BROWNY was stolen from their shelter this morning.
This adorable and hardworking boy has consistently helped the shelter raise funds over the years, and often travels to around Malaysia with volunteers to participate in fundraising events.
If you are in Johor, please keep a close lookout for this boy and notify HOPE immediately. Let's hope they are reunited soon!

Urgent Help Needed For Injured Dog In SS14, Subang Jaya (Caryn Wong’s)

I just received an S.O.S. from a Caryn Wong who called regarding an injured dog in SS14, Subang Jaya. According to Caryn, the dog has probably been hit by a car and someone had abandoned it in front of a house. The dog needs medical attention immediately. As far as I understand, Caryn says she needs help to pick up the dog and she says it looks like a mixed breed.

Updates On Yoshee

I have been asking Sree about Yoshee and she is doing just fine. Yoshee is as happy as ever, says Sree. She delights in receiving visitors and is super-duper friendly to everyone.
I did not visit Yoshee today as I believe there is a time where we must “let go” and respect the privacy of the adopter. At most, I will keep in contact by sms or ask for news when I meet Sree. If Sree provides photos, I’ll be most grateful, but I will not insist.

Protect Your Community Animals – Better Be Safe Than Sorry

In light of the unfortunate bull terrier incident, I have received news from several sources that the local councils in certain areas in Selangor may be conducting big-scale dog-capturing operations very soon. Today’s news just received seems to indicate the PJ area this weekend.
We urge all caregivers to take in your community animals (into your house compound) and also, please do not allow your pets to roam freely anywhere outside your house compound to prevent them from being captured.

To SEBERANG PRAI Animal Lovers:
Pertaining to the instant killing of stray puppies in Seberang Prai by local council, Majlis Perbandaran Seberang Perai (MPSP) has responded that there is no pound available and SPCA Seberang Perai's shelter is full, so strays are to be put to sleep on the spot.
MPSP and SPCA SP are working to establish an extended shelter in the months to come. However, the instant killing of stray dogs & pups would likely continue until such a facility is ready.

In light of a recent case where a rescuer had applied to several organisations for financial aid for the same bills without disclosing this multiple claim to us (despite a clause in our form which requires this disclosure), we wish to now gently remind all applicants to please disclose the facts HONESTLY when applying for claims from our fund.
On our subsidy forms, there is a clause that says:

SUBANG JAYA to increase enforcement of dog catching.
Please read last line of article, which indicates that more strays would be roped in by MPSJ soon. Other local councils may likely follow suit.
Rescuers and feeders in SUBANG JAYA, please be extra careful and temporarily shelter the strays if possible. Dog owners, please ensure that your dogs do not roam around freely outside your compound.

Sofia was taken to her new home yesterday evening (May 17th) in Sek 9, Kota Damansara, and reported missing this morning. We don’t know what time she ran out and where she is right now. A security guard claimed he saw her this morning at the mosque in Sek 7, which is quite far off, so I am not sure if he saw the right dog.
