The New Faster-Than-Lightning Escape Artist 18th Jun 2012, by AnimalCare
Indy and Pole have been trounced as the king and queen of escape.
There is a new faster-than-the-speed-of-lightning escape artist in my colony.
Who is it?
Call me Supertabs!
For many weeks now, she has perfected the art of zipping out of the grille the moment we open it to come into the room or go out. She escapes something to the tune of 6 times a day, but it seemed to be just for the thrill of escaping.
It’s like, “Yay…I win! I escaped!!”
She would then strut around th...

Thank You For Your Prayers For Bobby – He Is Fine Today 18th Jun 2012, by AnimalCare
Thank you very much, everyone, for your prayers and good wishes for Bobby. There was no seizure this morning and he was fine when I returned home from work.
I think you know what it is like, when you return from work, walk in and peep into the room with bated breath to see if Bobby is still okay and you’re relieved to find him standing up and sniffing around the room!
I am very sure it is all due to your prayers and kind wishes because Bobby actually perked up after I wrote that blog pos...

PetWorld 2012 18th Jun 2012, by AnimalCare
Here are some photos taken at the three-day event, PetWorld 2012. This would be the biggest crowd I have ever seen in any pet event in this country!
George and Weiwen opened the booth on Friday at 9am as I was still at work. Luckily they could take leave.
I only got there after lunch and for the first time, I experienced the maddest traffic jam in my entire life. No, it wasn’t traffic jam on the roads. It was traffic jam inside the carpark itself. The cars were NOT moving. I had to shut...

We have subsidised RM100 for this case.
It is good to know that we are now reaching out to those who do not speak English and are not internet-savvy at all. They have no email either. It does take a bit more work, like getting their bank account numbers so th...

Words Of Innocence 18th Jun 2012, by Second Chance
You guys know the famous website, 9gag? I read this post which was really sweet. The mind of this six-year-old kid was so fascinating...... Humans are blinded by money, ambition, success; caught up by work, concentrating on making money; caged in an office from 8am-11pm, get booted by bosses or staff....We don't live a life, we merely survive. We need a break to live life to realize what we have. Don't let that magnificent child minds die, we shou...

Do You Trust Your Vet? 18th Jun 2012, by Dr Rayya's Online Veterinary Journal
I think it is very important for a veterinarian to be able to forge great relationships with their clients. Personally, I feel very privileged to have so many regular clients that value my judgement and entrust me with their pet’s wellbeing. However, I do appreciate that not all clients will appeal to the way I practice. In similar effect, I find that I get along with certain clients more than others. That being said, it is essential that a vet and client don’t ever allow their diffe...

"It's been really hot recently. Even though I don't like the chlorine, I just stopped for dip. Darn. I got spotted" - A statement given in privacy by Skinnydip, the reticulated python who was rescued from a private swimming pool. Thanks to the caller and the property's pest control company who was understanding towards the rescue. They were unable to catch him, and we are not surprised because our rescue officer (James) had to get inside the pool in swimming trunks and locate the head. We have n...

Bobby Starts Having Old-Age Seizures 17th Jun 2012, by AnimalCare
On Friday morning, Bobby went into a seizure at 5.30am. It lasted quite long and he was salivating excessively. After the seizure, he was totally disoriented and kept turning around in circles for almost two hours. The only way to stop him was to corner him, put boxes around him, but still, he kept turning and could not stop. He even struggled when he was held down. He only settled down after 2 hours.
On Saturday morning, as I was about to handfeed him, he threw another seizure. This time it las...
