Spaying Subsidy For Two Dogs, Ivory And Becky (Susan Ann Bell’s) 25th Oct 2012, by AnimalCare
We have subsidised RM300 for the spaying of two of Susan Bell’s female dogs from the construction site. RM200 is from our Medical Fund as per our policy (RM100 per animal) while the extra RM100 is from our reader, Maria O’Connell.
Since these dogs are on a construction site, they need to be rehomed very urgently as the construction of the building will be completed very soon. If you are interested in adopting Ivory, Becky or any other dog (there are about 25-30 dogs in all), please c...

Bosco’s Ashes Return Home 25th Oct 2012, by AnimalCare
James Kho’s assistant brought Bosco’s ashes back a few minutes ago.
For some strange reason, I felt a sense of comfort and peace now that Bosco’s ashes are back home. Maybe this is one step closer to acceptance. Or maybe because I promised Bosco I would bring him home and I have done that now. When I am ready, I plan to intern his ashes in our garden, his home for 27 blissful and joyful days. And Bosco will then always be home and near me.
Funerals, wakes and last rites are o...

A Relative Of The Bombay Cat? 25th Oct 2012, by AnimalCare
When I first brought Raven to the vet’s, she said Raven looked very much like a Bombay Cat. But after checking, she said Raven is not because she has a small spot of white on her chest. The Bombay cat must be completely jet-black. But Raven has the typical Bombay Cat ears, though.
Come to think of it, Vixey too was completely black except for a small spot of white on her chest.
My part-time cleaner saw Raven the other day and she thought Raven looked very familiar. She said Raven may be on...

Home-Cooked Goodness But… 25th Oct 2012, by AnimalCare
Last night I decided to make another batch of home-cooked food but this time, no blending. I figured maybe, just maybe, my brood does not like the blended consistency.
Cleo smelled the food and jumped onto the kitchen sill to watch me shred the chicken meat.
Last night, Cleo had been vomiting out some food, so I thought I should give her some soup and shredded chicken instead. She ate it all up and there was no vomiting after that.
This morning, I thought I’d warm up the food. Normally I o...

Raven Undergoes “training” 24th Oct 2012, by AnimalCare
Since Raven has mange, I have been advised to cage her instead of letting her roam around the house.
Step 1: Put cat in cage without closing door, let cat explore. Allow cat the freedom of walking in and out of cage so that cat does not develop negative vibes about cage.
She sniffed around, lost interest in the boring cage and came out to explore more interesting objects. I was hoping she would scratch on this sand and do her business, but she wasn’t interested.
I actually prefer to...
