Reptilian Night Watch
5th Aug 2012, by AnimalCare

We looked everywhere in the garden. There was no reptile in sight. All has been quiet at the Clubhouse as well.  Cleo is standing guard at this drain hole. Actually, we are watching the cats’ reaction to the drain hole; that would be the best indication of whether the reptile is anywhere near the drain holes. We cannot see inside, but the cats can sense its presence, as they had for the past few days.  Cow is keeping watch at the first post.  We’re not sure how to read the cats...

A Reptilian Visitor…in The Drain
5th Aug 2012, by AnimalCare

For the past few nights, we saw Baggy and Cleo sniffing curiously at the two drain holes in the Clubhouse (the photo above was taken last night). We should have suspected something was inside, but it didn’t cross our minds until this morning when I was there with them, and I saw a longish grey-coloured snout popping out from under the drain hole cover. Then I remembered my husband saying he had spotted a huge iguana crossing the road 2 houses away a few days ago. Oh gosh, this must be the...

At The Student Leader Convention, Universiti Malaya
5th Aug 2012, by AnimalCare

An Indian student body from Universiti Malaya invited us to open an awareness booth at their Student Leader Convention today. Bernice, Donovan and I were there today.  We met with the student delegates during their half hour break time. It appears that the idea of CNRM and even that of neutering animals as a means to control the stray animal population were all new to them. That was good – At least we’ve passed the message on to these student leaders and they will take the message...

Karuna Passes On To Rainbow Bridge
5th Aug 2012, by AnimalCare

Ref: http://myanimalcare.org/2011/12/26/karuna-ha s-a-new-foster-home/ On 7th July 2011, the temple caretaker found a dog severely attacked and badly bitten by a pack of wild dogs in that area. The dog was brought to our vet for treatment. We named her Karuna. Karuna was a very old dog (estimated to be at least 12 years old at that time). Karuna had also been previously spayed, so we suspect she used to be a pet. Being elderly, Karuna took her time to recover and upon recovery, my mother foster...
