Meeting Rosie’s Mum! 14th Oct 2012, by AnimalCare
Early this morning as I was feeding my outside clan, I spotted Francis and Mukda at the Cat Breakfast Pavilion. Francis is a consultant engineer, very busy running his own firm, but has time to do this every morning. He packs the food in paper packs and cleans up after the cats finish eating.
That’s Mukda patting Rosie and Ginger. While waiting for the cats to finish breakfast, Francis does his morning exercise.
Bosco and Raven are eating Quit today. Raven eats more than Bosco!
Mu...

The Press Conference On Illegal Trespassing By Dogcatchers And Other Related Issues 14th Oct 2012, by AnimalCare
The press conference happened today and we were invited to be part of the panel. Of course, we support the issue raised by MDDB, so I attended the PC.
It was full house.
A lady was invited to speak about her experience where dogcatchers entered her compound when no one was home and took her dogs away.
Besides the video clip of the latest case in Ampang Jaya, another one was shown where a young boy related what he saw – how some adults cornered a dog and drowned the dog inside a dr...

Raven’s Minyak-Ed Condition 13th Oct 2012, by AnimalCare
Instead of using the baby oil, I was advised to use a vegetable oil.
I also noticed Raven does lick the oil from her skin, so a vegetable oil would be safer. Anyway, this is my cooking oil.
I notice there is some improvement in her skin condition. It doesn’t feel as “sandy” as before.
My trusty assistant, Bosco, is always around, as usual.
Oh hello, MR Ginger!!
Can’t blame anyone for suspecting he may be a pregnant female, right?
Snow White also looks &...

Ref: http://myanimalcare.org/2012/10/12/transport -offer-for-puppy-with-inverted-rear-paws-kelly-tan s/
It’s all been arranged now. I’ve got an appointment for the puppy on Monday morning so PuppyPaws, Kelly and Jacinta are coming down here to let the puppy have a second opinion.
We tried to get a taxi from here, but due to short notice, we were not able to find one. Kelly found a taxi from Ipoh that was willing to transport them, but one round trip costs RM400. That is really pri...

HERO CHIHUAHUA FINDS MISSING GIRLS
Proving that its breed can be more than just handbag accessories, a 3-year-old Chihuahua was responsible for finding two girls who went missing in a forest.
On Monday, life stood still for David and Rebecca Parga. Their two little girls, Carlie, 8, and Lacey, 5, were missing. Also with them was Carlie's best friend, Victoria Baker.
It was at about 4 p.m. when the girls took their dog, Lucy, for a walk down to the cul-de-sac. What was supposed to be a q...

Oops, Silly Me….Ginger Is Male (and Already Neutered Too)! 13th Oct 2012, by AnimalCare
A reader from the blog wrote to say she would like to adopt Rosie. I thought that would be a wonderful idea so that Rosie would finally have a home, but to be fair, I needed the feeder’s consent since he had been looking after Rosie even before I moved here. My other worry is, Rosie might run away and try to come back here.
Sometimes, it’s not that the new owner isn’t providing enough. The owner may be doing everything possible to give the cat a happy life, but the cat just wan...

Transport Offer For Puppy With Inverted Rear Paws (Kelly Tan’s) 12th Oct 2012, by AnimalCare
From my last post: http://myanimalcare.org/2012/10/12/further- updates-on-the-puppy-with-the-inverted-rear-paws-k elly-tans/ until now, I have been communicating with several people (including vets) who may be able to help in this case.
So far, every vet I have spoken to says it is possible to explore non-surgical methods but this is only based on the photos of the puppy. A physical examination is still necessary. It is also better not to delay the evaluation and treatment as with every day th...
