Today we received news that the Animals Asia Foundation (AAF) bear rescue centre in Vietnam is being evicted. We first featured the dedicated work of Jill Robinson (MBE) and her team in our SPCA Bulletin Jan-Feb 2002. Their first rescue centre was set up in Chengdu, China. Rosie and Bosco were outside the gate while Raven was inside.
I was so relieved to see Raven as she went missing last night during and after the heavy rain. Maybe she went home?

A warm welcome to "Neung" (means "number one" in Lao), our first rescued Malayan sun bear at the ACRES Lao Wildlife Sanctuary! We are saddened that Neung was poached from the wild for the illegal wildlife trade but happy that we are providing sanctuary for this little cub.
We have started construction of our Education Centre at the sanctuary and hope that through our awareness efforts, bears will no longer be poached from the wild and that we can wipe out this cruel trade.

The past couple of days have been pretty hot and our dogs at the SPCA have been feeling it too.
