The Home-Made “cat Public Toilet”
19th Oct 2012, by AnimalCare

Much has been said about people complaining that cats poo in their gardens. In fact, according to a recent chat with a councilor, the most frequent complaints about community cats is that (1) they sit atop cars, and (2) they defecate in people’s gardens. My friend looks after community cats and she and her husband have fashioned a “cat public toilet” inside their garbage compartment. For those of us who feed community cats, this seems to be an excellent idea. Take a look…...

Bosco, Raven And Rosie…come In!
18th Oct 2012, by AnimalCare

Last night there was a very, very heavy thunderstorm in Subang Jaya and Bosco and Raven were missing from the porch!  I was so worried about them and we went out to check many times, but both of them were not in the porch. I was so worried, I stayed up until past midnight, after the rain and was so relieved that they finally came back…totally dry without a drop of water on their coats! Now where did they go during the rain?  I was even worried that Raven, being so small, might have been ...

18th Oct 2012, by The Great Animal Rescue Chase

He was first spotted hobbling down the road in the dead of winter, in the dead of night. It was obvious he was all alone in this world, with no home, no food, no love, and probably not much of a chance of surviving much longer out in the bitter cold. The compassionate young lady who first saw him on that dark icy road stopped her car and tried to coax him into it, and out of the extremely frigid weather. But his distrust of human beings was immense, and he soon turned away from her and hobble...

Here’s some happy news from Lydia about little Max! Lydia has also taken Max back to foster in order to facilitate the frequency and intensity of the physiotherapy sessions. From Lydia: Hi Kah Yein, Max has been eating well and playing a lot with his toys when he’s in his pen. He’s very comical when he gets excited and barks at his toys and “talks” to them in excitement. For lunch he had minced meat, broccoli, pumpkin, carrot, liver and heart. He’s not used ...

18th Oct 2012, by AnimalCare

Pak Din (Nordin Hashim) comes under our Food Fund. He is 64 years old, unemployed and has no proper home. Pak Din lives in Gombak in a make-shift shack (which our reader, Connie James, very kindly refurbished for him recently). Although he barely has enough for himself, he looks after the stray dogs and cats in his community despite being ostracised because of cultural prejudices (against dogs) in this community. Pak Din’s plight was highlighted to me by my friend, Chew Teng Ngin. Mr Chew ...
