An Outing With Lydia And Max 29th Oct 2012, by AnimalCare
Today, Lydia wanted to take Max down to the vet’s. Lydia is thinking of having a splint made for Max and wanted to discuss this with the vet.
Lydia said she’d pick me up.
Max has put on quite a bit of weight. He’s on raw food.
Top marks for “manja”!
To make him walk, Lydia had to attract him in all kinds of ways.
These are his leg braces.
He still hops like a bunny with his back legs but once in a while, we see him actually using the legs “cor...

Small and petite but eats a lot, and thanks you after! An affectionate girl that loves to be petted.
NomNom has an interesting set of colours and an adorably pink nose. Her face is divided into 2 sides - light and dark sides which divide right in the middle at her lips.
Would you like to take care of lil' NomNom?

Raven’s “Orientation Programme” 29th Oct 2012, by AnimalCare
Yesterday, Raven sneaked into the room when the door was left open for a split second, made a circle and quickly scuttled back outside.
She was quite pleased with herself, but it created quite a surprise for everyone at Bunny’s Place. And this was followed by increased spraying and marking by Cow.
Raven has been coming to the grille to make friends with everyone.
Of course Tabs is the friendliest.
Yesterday, we tried this…
And this morning, we let her make...

I Need Ideas, Please…and The Changing Of The Guards 29th Oct 2012, by AnimalCare
With Raven’s presence in the house, Cow & Bunny’s spraying have increased manifold.
I have been cleaning the furniture, the walls and practically all surfaces non-stop for many days now.
Yesterday, I spent 6 hours cleaning up the room with whatever I could find. Yet, the smell is still there.
The wall under my table is a favourite spray wall for Cow & Bunny. Unfortunately, I only discovered this a few months after moving in, so there are permanent streaks on the wall now. Th...

Spotlight on: INDO-PACIFIC BOTTLENOSE DOLPHIN
Indo-Pacific bottlenose dolphins are truly fascinating animals, displaying some of the most complex social behaviours seen in non-human animals, as revealed by long-term studies on wild populations.
These dolphins are also known to use tools: wild individuals have been observed carrying sponges on their beaks to protect them from sea urchin spines while foraging on the sea floor!
Unfortunately, we don't have a photo of a wild dolphin to shar...

Max’s Daily Diaries 29th Oct 2012, by AnimalCare
The long-awaited news from Lydia!
Hi Kah Yein,
Max and I have been keeping so busy that we’re behind on updating you on Max’s dairy.
Apart from his daily physio sessions to keep his muscles stretched and work towards more normal joint range, Max has started swimming. First I had him in a big tub at home, with his float coat and warm water, Max had a smile on his face. I was encouraged to try this out as Max loves playing with his water dish and often I find that he has both his paw...

A Wrestle For A Shelf 29th Oct 2012, by AnimalCare
A fight broke out yesterday at the Clubhouse.
Cleo had got to this shelf first, which is her normal siesta spot every day (if it doesn’t rain).
But the Godfather decided he wanted it.
Ever since Raven came (or maybe that’s not the cause), Bunny has been even more godfatherly (not in a nice way!).
Bunny looks away, so I thought Cleo had won…(her ears also came up a little).
That’s one of Mr G’s housemates making his rounds…
…and stopping to t...

Controlling Hairball In Cats 28th Oct 2012, by AnimalCare
Ref: http://myanimalcare.org/2012/10/27/new-stuff -for-the-brood/
Thank you for your comments on the issue of hairball control in cats.
I remember a case where a pet-cat of a vet had died of hairball too. The vet did ultra sound imaging, X-Rays, etc. but could not find the cause of the discomfort in the cat. It was only after the cat’s demise that a post-mortem revealed that the problem was that of hairball.
For my other cats, I find Laxatone very effective. Just two days of it and the pr...
