Zoo Audit Workshop by PERHILITAN
MARCH 2013 - SPCA Selangor Animal Welfare Officer Kelvin attended a zoo auditing workshop organised by PERHILITAN at the end of February. The workshop's main objective was to train officers to audit zoos in Malaysia - big or small, government or private. Dear Friends,
Yesterday, I received a call from an unknown number. It was a man with a very loud voice and he sounded very desperate. He spoke in Cantonese and it sounded like he was asking if we had cats for adoption. I said no and cut him off as I did not have a good feeling about it.
Just now (just minutes ago), he called me again. He started off in Cantonese but switched to English when I kept asking him to repeat himself.

Wednesday's Adoption Spotlight : Cilla
Age : 1 year 5 months
Pretty Cilla has come a very long way since her time with us at the SPCA. She was very timid, especially when she was approached by people. Cilla would roll over onto her back and tremble with fear. She has shown much improvement and is happier and friendlier! This little pretty girl is playful, cheeky and is a big sweetheart who would in doubt, make a big difference to your life!

Ever since the Sabah incursion escalated into what it is now, we’ve been praying for “uneventful days”. “No event” is GOOD. SUPERLUCKY is a German Shepherd mixed found straying along Raja Uda. She never harm anyone or chase after humans. A very quiet and timid girl that never let out a single bark.
Unfortunately, 2 days ago she was found being poisoned by some evil human. Chris who found her lying in a hopeless state immediately took her to the vet. Her prognosis was bad. She only has a 30% survival rate.

Bunny’s Paw

Being FIV+, Bunny has always taken longer than the ordinary cat to heal from any ailment.
After 5 days of antibiotics (Clavomox and Metronidazole), Bunny can finally place his paw on the ground and walk on all fours. (Of course he chased the cockroach two nights ago too…shh!)
The right paw is okay now, but Bunny still limps a wee bit.
At times, he still lifts his paw to show us that it hurts…poor Bunny Bun Buns.

Pokky is a female stray loitering around a temple area in BM. She has minor skin problem when a rescuer spotted her and brought her to the vet. She is currently up for adoption. Anyone interested to give her a home may call 010-3912218.

All Quiet At Bunny’s Place Until…

All afternoon, Indy was fast asleep on my table. The morning attempt must have totally exhausted him.
Then, it was dinner time…
Pole is all muscle, isn’t she?
Her brothers, on the other hand, are…”prosperously endowed”!
Indy is also all muscle.
This explains Pole and Indy’s agility. It’s all in the muscles.
