Guide Dog Saves Blind Woman From Burglars
7th May 2013, by PetFinder.my

MAY 4, 2013: Yolanda the service dog is viewed as a hero by many. But to her owner, Christina Colon, she is much more than that. "Maybe for you she is the hero," Colon said. "But for me, she is my angel." Colon, who is blind, was sleeping early Friday morning when she was awakened around 3 a.m. by the sound of Yolanda growling beside her bed. Colon then heard two male voices downstairs inside her home on the 4700 block of Marple Street in North Philadelphia. Colon says her guide dog pulled her...

7th May 2013, by AnimalCare

We would like to thank Mr Kok Khee Wee for his generous donation and pledge to help Kelly & Jacinta’s dogs every month, starting this May 2013. So far, according to Jacinta, they only have two regular donors. They need more funds on a monthly basis, so if you could pledge a monthly donation to them, it would really help. Kelly & Jacinta look after about 119 dogs in their shelter in Tanjung Rambutan and Ipoh. As per our policy, theirs is the last shelter we can help as our policy on...

7th May 2013, by AnimalCare

Ref: http://myanimalcare.org/2013/05/06/4-kittens -for-adoption-khadijah-shaaris/ It’s almost like a poetic comfort for all of us who were quite upset over the results of the elections this time. A neighbour had dumped a litter of 4 newborn kittens on Khadijah Shaari’s doorstep a few days on 2nd May, just a few days before the elections. Khadijah, being the cat-lover that she is, took them in and cared for them. She named them Haniza, Hannah, Wong Chen and Rafizi (for obvious reason...

Fun Fact of the Day! Dogs have an amazing internal clock. They know exactly when it’s time to go for a walk, to play, to eat and to go to bed. They know when it’s time for you to get up in the morning and when you are expected home from work, particularly if you keep to a regular schedule. You might want to consider using your dog as your morning alarm clock!

6th May 2013, by AnimalCare

Ref: http://myanimalcare.org/2013/05/05/please-pr ay-for-clean-and-fair-elections/ In my entire life, this was the first time that I attended ceramahs and dialogues because as much as I preferred to stay away from politics, enough is really enough, and I wanted to make that difference this time round. We have suffered enough and I don’t want our younger generation to suffer the same. And although our dreams were shattered last night, all is not lost. Now that the dust has settled, we begi...

Ref: http://myanimalcare.org/2013/05/05/help-need ed-for-a-cat-kyi-pyar-the-nus/ We published the above appeal from a Myanmar lady, Kyi Pyar The Nu yesterday but no one has responded yet. As advised, Ms Kyi sent the cat to the vet, but she has decided not to proceed with treatment even though we have offered our subsidy. As a foreigner, she probably cannot cope with the 50% cost or the care for this cat. If anyone is able to take over the cat, the new rescuer is welcome to apply for our subsidy...
