Guide Dog Saves Blind Woman From Burglars

MAY 4, 2013: Yolanda the service dog is viewed as a hero by many. But to her owner, Christina Colon, she is much more than that.

Finally, we have received the cheque from Berjaya Founder’s Day!
We thank Tan Sri Vincent Tan and the committees of Berjaya Cares Foundation and Better Malaysia Foundation for their generous contribution to our Medical Fund. We are deeply honoured and humbly grateful that a giant corporation like Berjaya Foundation is supporting our cause to help the street animals.
We will be using these funds for all medical subsidy claims as soon as the cheque is cleared.

More Help Needed For Kelly & Jacinta’s Dogs In Tg Rambutan

We would like to thank Mr Kok Khee Wee for his generous donation and pledge to help Kelly & Jacinta’s dogs every month, starting this May 2013.
So far, according to Jacinta, they only have two regular donors. They need more funds on a monthly basis, so if you could pledge a monthly donation to them, it would really help. Kelly & Jacinta look after about 119 dogs in their shelter in Tanjung Rambutan and Ipoh.

Fun Fact of the Day!
Dogs have an amazing internal clock. They know exactly when it’s time to go for a walk, to play, to eat and to go to bed. They know when it’s time for you to get up in the morning and when you are expected home from work, particularly if you keep to a regular schedule. You might want to consider using your dog as your morning alarm clock!

Today we sent money to buy a month's supply of pet food for the cats and dogs cared for by Danica Djurkovic in Serbia. There are 50 animals under her care and here you can see the cats resting after spay/neuter surgery.
"Last night 18 cats (9 female and 9 male) were sterilized," Danica writes. "This morning everyone's eating and sleeping. I slept on the floor and hugged them all."

Rescuer Unable To Get Cat Treated (Kyi Pyar The Nu)

We published the above appeal from a Myanmar lady, Kyi Pyar The Nu yesterday but no one has responded yet. As advised, Ms Kyi sent the cat to the vet, but she has decided not to proceed with treatment even though we have offered our subsidy. As a foreigner, she probably cannot cope with the 50% cost or the care for this cat.
If anyone is able to take over the cat, the new rescuer is welcome to apply for our subsidy...
