Tabs’ New Bedroom And Another Day Out 3rd Jun 2013, by AnimalCare
Tabs had the whole day out yesterday and she was truly very, very reluctant to come back to “bully world” (as perceived by Tabs). But she had to. We’ve noticed that Tabs get overly adventurous at night – she turns into Spider-Cat 2. If she is out, she’ll head for the rooftops and that would be a complete nightmare for me.
So Tabs had to be brought back into the room.
Seeing how unhappy she was, I made a new bedroom for her….inside the wardrobe.
That’s ...

Meeting Willy At The Playground And Hello…are You New? 2nd Jun 2013, by AnimalCare
This evening, after “licking my wounds”, I thought I should take a walk at the playground and maybe, send some positive and friendly vibes to Willy.
There he is…at the blue dustbin.
The only glitch is…Daffodil and Rosie like to follow me whenever I step out of the house. They are my “bodyguards”.
Hello Willy-O!
He’s sitting like a lion.
(Immediately, the song “The Lion Sleeps Tonight” comes to mind.)
So while I walked around the playground...

# Why are vaccinations necessary for your pet?
1. They help protect your pet from a number of serious and even deadly diseases.
2. Vaccinations cost considerably less than the treatments available for the diseases pets are normally vaccinated against.
Some common diseases in cats & dogs:
Cats:
1. Feline Distemper (Feline panleukopenia)-Highly contagious and deadly viral disease of cats. Can be easily prevented thru vaccination.
2.Feline Respiratory Disease (FVR, FCV)-Upper respiratory tract...

Excellent message, from the Little Fireface Project. Please never take your photo with wild animals (such as lorises) while on holiday- especially true for Thailand. These animals are torn from the wild, their teeth are ripped out, and they live lives of fear, misery and frustration, before being killed when they are no longer cute and controllable. Please do your part to stop this cruelty, and educate others to do the same. Please help to share!

Catching Willy, Part 1 2nd Jun 2013, by AnimalCare
My plan is to feed Willy for a few more weeks before attempting to catch him to be neutered. I don’t think he has an owner anymore now as he is often sighted at the blue dustbins and inside the drain. He no longer hangs out at that vacant house nowadays. I think that family has moved away again.
So, to fatten him up, he needs to have two proper meals in a day.
So I went out to the culvert and started calling for Willy.
I know he usually comes via this drain, and from this direction too.

Tabs Meets The Patio Family…officially 2nd Jun 2013, by AnimalCare
Today is Tab’s day out, so she was out in the house all day.
By dinner time, Tabs met the Patio Family…in an official way.
There was the customary touch-nose between Tabs and Ginger, as well as Tabs and Daffodil. Timmy had already made friends much earlier, so that leaves only Rosie and Vincent Starr.
Tabs was polite and did not ask for a place for dinner.
Instead, she decided to check out the pandan bush at the patio while the rest ate.
Meanwhile, I decided to hunt for Wil...

Of Cows In Condos And Bunnies In Boxes 2nd Jun 2013, by AnimalCare
Ever since Indy became the new “taikor” (alpha) in Bunny’s Place, and this happened a few months back, he has been making his new position known and heard by everyone. At the same time, Cow has grown increasing subdued, reminiscent of a former mafia boss now retired.
Indy on the aggressive towards poor Cow.
It looked like it was escalating, so I water-gunned Indy down.
An observer watches from high ground.
An innocent bystander who is glad he is not the victim.
We are abso...

“When We Eat Animals, They Die…” (says Luiz Antonio, A Little Boy) 2nd Jun 2013, by AnimalCare
With age comes wisdom, they say? Not necessarily so…
Listen to this little boy speak with his mum when she tried to make him eat octopus:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X2m0FmjV6 2E
Luiz: Octopus are animals, Fish are animals, Chickens are animals, Cows are animals, Pigs are animals.
Mom: Yeah…
Luiz: So! When we eat animals, they die…
Mom: Yeah…
Luiz: I don’t like that they die.
Luiz: I like that they stay standing up.
Mom: (sobbing quietly)
Mom: Ok, then we are n...

Late Night Visitors To The Patio 1st Jun 2013, by AnimalCare
Nope, it’s not the slithery kind, thank goodness, but a dog and a new cat!
Last night, as I was reversing my cat (oops, I meant “CAR”!!) out of the porch in the rain, I caught a glimpse of a large dog coming into our house compound from outside!
It was a brown dog and if I’m not mistaken, he (or maybe she) had a collar too. The dog came in nonchalantly and headed straight to the patio.
I quickly stopped my car as I was worried about the patio cats (everyone was there as t...

The Mum-Dog & 3 Puppies And The Preggy Mum-Dog (Then Lai Fatt’s) 1st Jun 2013, by AnimalCare
Ref: http://myanimalcare.org/2013/05/31/looking-f or-sponsors-for-the-safe-boarding-of-a-pregnant-mu m-dog-a-mother-dog-and-her-3-puppies/
We made the appeal yesterday to help this mother-dog, her 3 puppies and another heavily pregnant mother-dog. They were rescued by Then Lai Fatt (Ah Fatt) after the local council had (thankfully) failed to catch them twice. Ah Fatt needed a safe place to board the whole family at least until the puppies are weaned off breastmilk and the other mum-dog delivers...
