Updates On 29th Jun 2013 29th Jun 2013, by The Great Animal Rescue Chase
Things are going well in Turkey where our teammate Manuela Wroblewski leads the most extraordinary mission for street cats. We just sent over the funds to provide food and emergency care for the month of July and we have such high aspirations for a future for these animals.
For cat lovers, this is such an incredible opportunity to spread love. Each day hundreds of cats on the streets receive food in a community where most people wish them harm. There is such a culture of cruelty here and we ar...

Pilling Mr Zurik 28th Jun 2013, by AnimalCare
It was 3pm, time for Mr Zurik’s first dose of oral antibiotics.
I wasn’t sure how I was going to pill him yet. Play it by ear, I guess.
I have decided that he does not need the e-collar as that could be a source of great stress for any animal.
The good news is that when Mr Zurik sleeps, he’s totally flat out on his belly, with four feet in the air. That means he’s very relaxed, which is a good sign.
Now, how was I planning to pill him?
I decided to cut the little tablet i...

A Letter From Meiji 28th Jun 2013, by AnimalCare
Ref: http://myanimalcare.org/2013/06/27/an-update -on-meiji/
This afternoon, I received a mail from an unfamiliar source. There was a PDF attached and it was a letter supposedly signed by Meiji. This must be a response from the post written yesterday (above). Meiji has no internet access, so obviously, someone must have briefed her and obtained this response from her. I have reproduced the PDF in two jpegs as below for the benefit of the people whose names have been mentioned.
I have written b...

Do Cats Really Have 9 Lives?
Dr.Rayya shares her experience on treating a tiny kitten with umbilical stump infection and discovered a stick poking out of its abdomen. Urgent surgery revealed tons of plastic and twigs in her tummy -- the poor kitten must have been so starved that it ate anything.
The weak kitten that narrowly escaped death has now recovered healthily, and even found a great loving home! A truly inspiring case indeed for vets and rescuers alike.
Read the captivating story at Pe...
