Rabbits are fluffy and adorable, but are you certain you (or your children) are ready for one in the house? Here are some facts about rabbits that you may want to know before you make that important decision. 1. A rabbit's teeth never stops growing. To deal with tooth growth, your rabbit will chew - a lot. Watch out for wires, furniture, and other things lying about! 2. Rabbits are more aggressive when they're not sterilised. Unsterilised rabbits stomp, bite and scratch more. 3. Rabbits can...

“I Am Here” – A Project By Chilean Students
1st Jul 2013, by AnimalCare

Take a look: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=576009 875782558 It is very touching and will move you to tears. The balloons were attached to the dogs only during filming. They were removed after that. The objective of the students was to bring awareness to the public of the presence of stray dogs on the street. They managed to get people patting and feeding the street dogs.

Vincent Starr Goes On A Hunger Strike!
1st Jul 2013, by AnimalCare

Two days ago, Vincent did not appear at the patio with everyone. When I was feeding Willy at the culvert, Vincent suddenly appeared and wanted to eat together with Willy, so I brought out a bowl and fed him there. I didn’t think anything of it then. Thought maybe he just came back late. Yesterday, again, he did not appear at the patio for his meals. Instead, he stayed outside in the porch and I finally fed him at the pillar. He ate alone. Again, I thought nothing of it until this morning w...

Dental Disease In Pets, The Silent Killer – Part 3
30th Jun 2013, by Dr Rayya's Online Veterinary Journal

Now for my way overdue and final dental sequel. The main topic is feline dentistry and there will also be a brief discussion about dental problems in other pets. There will be some overlap with canine dentistry but the focus will be on the unique oral inflammatory diseases that affect cats! We previously discussed how dogs are good at hiding their dental disease. Guess what, cats are even stealthier than dogs at doing that! I often hear owners exclaim in utter surprise when I inform them th...

Timmy’s 20% Diet – On Track!
30th Jun 2013, by AnimalCare

Timmy’s diet is on track! It was only the first day that he kept asking for more food. On the following day until now, he seems quite satisfied just eating whatever he has been given. But of course he tries to steal food from the rest (that’s already a habit) so careful monitoring is needed to ensure that no stealing and snatching happens. Am I any thinner yet? I don’t expect to see any results until after 1 1/2 months, Timmy. But you’ve been a good boy, eating less tha...

Willy And Mr Zurik Stories
30th Jun 2013, by AnimalCare

Since Mr Zurik is still at Jojo’s Healing Haven, Willy enjoys total peace outside and is often seen sleeping peacefully by the drain. This morning, I went for a walk on the road around the playground and Willy was seen everywhere at the playground. He seems to have “conquered” the entire playground. It’s literally his playing field. Daffodil and Ginger were spotted atop the car last night. Mr Zurik is in total recuperation and seems to be making good use of Jojo’...

He is named so, for a reason.. It was a regular weekend evening that one of our volunteers R was straying in an industrial estate.
