Understanding Willy

I’m beginning to understand Willy’s calls now that I had been home all day today, sitting near his cage. When he calls, it’s because he has urinated or defecated and wants his newspapers and trays to be cleaned. Hmm…clever cat. So it would seem that Willy likes to be clean, and it does make me wonder how he could have lived with the smeared anus and scrotum (with faecal matter) for so many days previously. It must have disturbed him a lot.

Joanne went to the shelter one day and saw Zessie sitting quietly at one corner, head down with low confidence and obvious skin problem.
A non-perky puppy with skin disease like her seldom attracted people to adopt but something in her attracted Joanne and thus she decided to get her out from the shelter and nurse her back to health before putting her up for adoption and find her a loving family.

Her previous owner had not been treating her well, ending up with her being malnourished.

Saving A Little Kitty Life (a Sharing By Mok Wai Ling)

Two days ago, I received a call from a lady, Mok Wai Ling. She had discovered a little abandoned kitten whose mother had not returned. Wai Ling tried feeding the kitten but the kitten wouldn’t take any milk, so she was desperate and asked if anyone could take over the kitten. She had already called the local shelter but they advised that an infant kitten’s chances of survival in the shelter were very slim.

Pet Abandonment

The last 3 months we have had brought into our sanctuary such older abandoned animals. Big Ben a middle age Bassett Hound was found abandoned at a car park under the hot sun in Malacca. We knew we had to bring Big Ben back and when we did we found out that he was peeing blood. He was promptly brought to the vet for an x-tray and we discovered that he had several stones in his bladder.

I know, I know. I said I’d let him go today, but the vet advised another two days of medication and confinement.
So, Willy was clearly unhappy today.

Young Pup With A Big Abdomen

Little Pup This little pup was rescued from Puchong Industrial Area by one of the volunteers. He was found to have a huge abdomen, so big that he could hardly move and we noticed his gum was very pale.
