It is time to reflect upon the use of these toxic pesticides and fungicides which affects us directly because it is used on the plants that we consume.
The meat-eaters would say, “There…we told you so! So, eat meat, it’s safer.”

24 JULY- This poor stray cat was 'speared' while attempting to jump over a fence. By the time anyone noticed, the cat was already dying and could not be saved :(
Please be vigilant about the welfare of the strays in your neighbourhood, if she had been found earlier she probably could have been saved.

WHY ADOPT? 为何要选择领养? Have you ever wonder how is the condition like for most of the illegal puppy mill? 您是否有深思过大多数宠物店里的小 狗们从何而来?又是否想过大多数非法 动物繁殖场里的真实情况是怎么样的? Updates On 26th Jul 2013 26th Jul 2013, by SPCA Singapore
We found this boy (now named Zac by his loving family) just over a year ago. Our Animal Rescue Officer (ARO) had received a call from the public and arrived on the scene to meet with a kind finder, who informed him that he had found a male Husky pup tied to a tree and subject to the elements. The finder had reason to believe that the dog belonged to a neighbour, and our ARO left a note at the alleged owner's home after getting no response, asking for the owner to contact us when he/she returned....

Please Exercise Philanthropic Prudence When You Donate 26th Jul 2013, by AnimalCare
It is rather coincidental that we received these two pieces of news yesterday and this morning and we would like to share it with all of you as it is a good reminder to all of us that as donors (or in our case, as a society that gives out subsidies), we must exercise philanthropic prudence, ie. to be careful and wise in giving out donations, to ensure that our hard-earned donations are properly and ethically used. As a donor, your money is also hard-earned and given in trust, so you might also w...

For Cat TNRM-Ers – This Is A “drop Trap” 26th Jul 2013, by AnimalCare
Shared by a rescuer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3SydX7jn ox8
It sure is easier than my ribbon method!
Beware of the tail, though.
It boasts of 4 advantages, but I think the part about trapping whole families, ie. “trapping the mum-cat without leaving the kittens behind” is a good point.
Our disclaimer holds.

A Healthful Vegan Diet (go Meatless Today And Save Some Animals!) 26th Jul 2013, by AnimalCare
Now, whenever I speak about eating less meat, there will always be the counter arguments, ie. so-and-so is vegetarian but is so unhealthy and weak, so-and-so is vegetarian, practises yoga but dropped dead at 40, etc.
Yes, there are always the exceptions. Nothing is fool-proof. Surely we know this. There is no elixir or secret formula that works for everyone.
We just have to give an idea a try and see if it works for us. But here is the thing, if we already do not believe in it, then forget about...

A Quick-And-Easy Meatless Meal 25th Jul 2013, by AnimalCare
Step One: See what you have in your little vegetable garden.
Taiwan kau-keh….good stuff.
The vege they put in otak-otak. Can do too.
(Can someone please tell me the name of that vege!!)
Basil and curry leaves. Yes, can do as well.
Now, as you cut the young stems of the vegetable plant, immediately replant (don’t deprive the poor young shoot of the needed carbon dioxide and oxygen please – that would be cruelty to plants!). Snip off all the leaves but leave the tip with the...
