Tabs Goes Berserk…because Of The Tshirt! 14th Oct 2013, by AnimalCare
We thought that since Tabs is looking for warm mats and warm places to rest in, putting on a tshirt might make her more comfortable.
That’s Indy’s tshirt, remember? But Tabs didn’t like it at all and started going on “reverse gear”. That’s moving backwards, something cats always do when they are afraid. We thought it would be just a while, so we let her be.
Then she totally went berserk and dashed around the house, moving backwards as well. It was a little cr...

The Big Scare From Bunny 14th Oct 2013, by AnimalCare
Bunny hadn’t been well lately. But he is FIV+ and between Bunny and Tiger, he is definitely the weaker of the two.
He lost weight after taking the Chitosan (which was good), but it happened too fast, and that really scared me. Now, I think it was all coincidental. He was losing weight due to some unknown reason. Then he started getting his low-grade fevers (something that happens often, which we would solve using Vetri DMG for 1-2 days and he would be alright).
But this time, it was differ...

Tabs And Tabbies United! 14th Oct 2013, by AnimalCare
I have been managing the medicine-feeding of Tabs alone most of the time, so there hasn’t been time to take photos and put up a blogpost. But thank you very much for all your kind wishes and enquries about Tabs.
She is slowly improving though still sneezing. We know it will take time to heal.
After going on the Vibravet paste (the vet said two notches once a day), I noticed she became very sluggish. That was a Sunday and that really got me worried. So I texted the vet who later replied to ...

Adoption Spotlight: Viking.
This two-year-old boy may seem overly rambunctious and naughty, but that's only because shelter life is so boring for a happy young boy. Viking loves nothing more than regular walks and exercise, and has gotten along fantastic with our other dogs. Loving, sweet and incredibly affectionate, Viking has been in the shelter for too long! Come spend some time with him, and give a dog who may be your next best friend a chance.
*Not HDB approved.
Also, show some love ...

LOST DOG IN TAMAN JAYA - We have received a report that there is a young male dog, white with black spots roaming around Jalan 10/12, Taman Jaya, PJ (near the Buddhist temple) for the last two weeks. He is wearing a red collar and is friendly, most probably someone's lost pet. We are unable to take in any animals for the time being as our shelter is under construction, is there anyone nearby who can take the dog in temporarily? Please contact Mr Martin at 010-2671900. Thank you! Please SHARE.

Teaching "Down" 14th Oct 2013, by SPCA Singapore
We may not think or know it, but a dog will lie down only when it's comfortable in a particular situation. If there are many distractions that the dog hasn't learnt to cope with present in the environment, it may be difficult to get your dog to lie down and stay down for long. Your dog may only lie down for a brief moment, then bob up again, unable to settle for some time.
Kang Nee, a certified professional dog trainer with a PhD in Zoology, works with us and the dogs in our shelter. Under her...

KITTEN ESCAPES GARBAGE BAG AND IS SAVED BY NEIGHBORS!
Written by Debra Hardcastle (OK, U.S.A.)
A year ago, my neighbor's granddaughter ran up to where my neighbor and I were visiting, "Gramma, Gramma, look what I found!" In her hands was a tiny kitten, which I estimated to be about 4 weeks old.
The kitten was in poor condition. Her eye was swollen and puss-crusted, we couldn't tell if the eye was damaged, or missing. In addition, the kitten was covered with fleas, her ears were blood-cru...
