A Special Auction: Patchwork Bedspread!! (Ends At 5pm, On Wednesday)

We have a very special patchwork bedspread up for auction, donated by Ms Ooi, who is the sister-in-law of Kinabalu-Kon (Kon, who led the Kinabalu-4 youngsters up the highest peak in Malaysia and raised RM16,000 for AnimalCare in December 2012).
This patchwork is painstakingly done with a lot of effort as it consists of hexagons. Those who do patchwork would know that it requires hand-tacking the cloth to a piece of manila card before sewing each hexagonal piece. Definitely more work than the squ...

We have been subsidising Leng-Zhai’s cryptococcosis bills since July 2013 and it’s been a long healing process. Since the crypto has recurred now, we have recommended that Nicole contacts one of our readers who has offered to help Leng-Zhai’s case. So far, our subsidies in 6 payments, total RM225.40.

We have fully sponsored RM50 for the vaccination of 2 puppies.
The bill for the dog with maggot wound is RM100 and we have subsidised RM50.
The bill for the dog with bilateral ear infection is RM60 and we have subsidised RM30.
This RM130 subsidy comes from the AnimalCare Donors (RM60) and Berjaya Cares (RM70).

Some irresponsible people have dumped animals at our office again this last week, as our shelter is under construction. Please help us rehome them asap, as we can't keep so many at our office. SPCA Selangor, Malaysia's Eco Shelter ground-breaking ceremony this morning, initiated by Ms. Mea Whitley, the founder of SPCA Selangor almost 6 decades ago! Still sharp and witty, this compassionate lady is a true inspiration indeed.
The new shelter will hopefully be ready in 18 months, with a sharper focus on education and long term solutions towards stray and welfare issues. Some really sweet animals are still urgently awaiting adoption there too.

A sociable and confident dog doesn't have to greet every person or dog that it meets, but it must be able to walk away when it needs to, and that ability to do so goes beyond being obedient.
