Why animal rights: http://www.peta.org/about/why-peta/why-an imal-rights.aspx
You are communicating an important message each time you choose not to eat meat.
How about observing Meatless Monday today?
An excerpt from the article above:

GORGEOUS BALLS OF LIGHT FALL ON LEOPARD
http://www.youcaring.com/nonprofits/help-us-feed- the-wildlife-facing-starvation/78580
In the Zimbabwe bush, a trail camera recently captured a series of photos of this magnificent leopard standing over its prey. The balls of light that surround the leopard are more significant than you might imagine, because these little orbs represent the few drops of rain in a land in urgent need of water. The leopard paused and watched hopefully as the sprinkle of r...

The Trampoline, Anyone? 25th Aug 2013, by AnimalCare
About 8 years ago, the trampoline was the in-thing for exercise buffs and I got myself one too. But a year after that, I fostered two puppies for the IPR, Angie and Jolie, and they bit right through the plastic and that was the end of my trampoline.
Bernice sent this, which reminded me of my trampoline….

The Tabby Troopers Vs Mr Zurik (in Defence Of Agent William) 25th Aug 2013, by AnimalCare
The evening began with Mr Zurik creating havoc inside the house…
As much havoc as he creates, you just cannot get angry with him…look at his face.
He came in to intimidate everyone and then jumped on the table to show who is boss.
Everyone was upset, so I had to shoo him out.
You have to stay out, please.
Soon it was dinner time.
Do you see an extra tabby?
That’s Tabs in the foreground. She wanted to come out so I let her out. Tabs is just no match for the titans and the ...

WHO Bit This Hole In The Packet Of Food?!! 25th Aug 2013, by AnimalCare
No, it’s not the Primal that got bitten….
The Primal is safely tucked away in the fridge. But each time I open the fridge, at least one cat would be around.
So what got bitten?
Tuscan Natural!
My inside and outside broods are CRAZY about Tuscan. But not as crazy as they are about Primal, though.
I don’t know who did this, but I know earlier on, Vincent had already bitten a hole in this packet (which I’ve tied up with rubber bands).
They don’t bite the Equilibrio ...

More PHOTOS Here http://animalrescuechase.com/rescue_showcase/story .php?id=1136
I was helping a friend feed her animals while she was out of town. Everything was going great until one morning when I walked up to her front door and saw a little blue blanket laying on her porch. I then saw a posted note stuck to the front door that read: "Hi I found this cat abandoned and abused. He has a sore on his front leg. I am hoping you can help him. I live down the street. P...

Updates On 24th Aug 2013 24th Aug 2013, by The Great Animal Rescue Chase
Born in Avsallar, Turkey, these two cats are waking up to a sunny morning in New England. Emily (calico) and her son Cookie were born in a community where their odds of being stoned to death or poisoned were at least 50%. But things are getting better.
The volunteer rescue program in Avsallar is thriving thanks to project leader Manuela Wroblewski and veterinarian Dr. Osman. Hundreds of cats and dogs are fed, sterilized and treated for injuries. Some of the lucky ones, like these sweethearts, ...

Spreading The Kindness Of Royal Canin Malaysia (Part 5) – To Mrs Mutharam Vasthilingam 24th Aug 2013, by AnimalCare
Mrs Mutharam Vasthilingam (from Cheras) first wrote to us in July 2013, requesting subsidy for the neutering and vaccination of the cats under her care. We agreed to subsidise as per policy. The first cat was Marima, but the requirement of the vet was that the cat had to be vaccinated first: http://myanimalcare.org/2013/07/18/vaccina tion-subsidy-for-marima-rescued-cat-mutharam-vasth ilingams/. Before Marima’s second scheduled vaccination, she was found to be pregnant so that had to be po...

Dog Saves Cat In Rare Blood Transfusion Op 24th Aug 2013, by PetFinder.my
A dog has saved the life of a cat by providing its blood for a transfusion. Macy the Labrador stepped in when Rory the ginger tom became ill after eating rat poison.
Vet Kate Heller, of Tauranga in New Zealand, said the feeble feline was fading fast and needed an immediate transfusion to survive. She searched for a suitable donor cat but could not find one quickly enough.
Ms Heller decided to take a gamble and use dog blood to try to save the animal, knowing Rory would die instantly if she gav...
