DOGS ON DEATHROW: MPSP DOG POUND 11th Feb 2014, by MDDB & MCCP Penang
Elly was a rescued from the pound.
We posted her photo on FB and soon after Felicia contacted us with intention to adopt her. We were so happy for Elly that arrangement was made to spay her before sending her to her new home. Unfortunately, our happiness was short-lived as we soon found out that Elly was tested positive of parvo. She was having bloody diarrhea and needs to be put on drips. Luckily, Elly is an optimistic girl. Her strong will to live enable her to have a speedy recovery.

BABY CHICKS SIDE OF THE STORY!
In their shells, baby chicks chirp back to their mother's call and to each other through their shells.
DID YOU KNOW?
In factory farming, a baby chick will never get to meet his or her parents because they are taken from her as soon as they are laid and placed in large incubators.
THINK ABOUT IT.
"Chickens are able to recognize more then 100 individuals. Even when an object is taken away and hidden from them, chickens are able to comprehend and understand that ...

This lovely black Tuxedo community cat was brought in with a tooth abscess. Our consultant vet gave her a check-up and found that she could also be suffering from renal failure. We did some tests and found that this girl is also FIV-positive.
Because of her condition, we're keeping her isolated from the cats in our shelter. We've been treating her tooth abscess and monitoring her condition for the past week, flushing her twice a week with fluids to rid the toxins in her kidneys. She is also on ...

A Visit From Good Friends And Strong Supporters Of AnimalCare 10th Feb 2014, by AnimalCare
When I first started AnimalCare in 2009, most of our funds and support came from my friends in various Buddhist centres in the Klang Valley and these friends have continued supporting our work until today. One of the centres which have given AnimalCare a lot of support through the years is the Mudita Buddhist Society in Klang.
“Mudita” means “altruistic joy”, rejoicing in the success of others, rejoicing when one does good for the benefit of others. How apt!
Here are my f...

DOGS ON DEATHROW: MPSP DOG POUND 10th Feb 2014, by MDDB & MCCP Penang
I am a coward, I admit.
Though I am involved in animal rescues, but never will I dare myself to enter a dog pound. I know that if I ever did, I will be mentally and emotionally shattered.
Today, I made a great breakthrough and overcome my fear. For the last few days, I have heard of so many dogs and puppies captured at the pound. A total of 41 adult dogs & 11 puppies! And since the pound is already at its max capacity, its just a matter of time before each and every one of these furkids will b...

The Unexpected Emergency:
It was suppose to be a normal day of routine bandage change for Suzzie at the animal hospital. But things took a drastic turn. Dr Ly examined the condition of her already badly injured hand and decided that it has to be amputated. Her hand had multiple fractures, dead and rotting tissues, her skin was ripped off and 4 of her fingers were so dead that they dropped off on their own. Only her last finger could be saved.
It was 4 hours of intensive operation. But to our...
