The Privilege Of Being A Free-Roaming Cat 17th Feb 2014, by AnimalCare
Heidi bird-watching after breakfast today.
Now that Willy is no longer around (I think he has moved with his family or maybe they have sent him back to the kampung), Heidi gets to go to the playground again. She enjoys watching the birds and children play. Sometimes, she even plays WITH the older children or the cat-friendly adults.
That’s the privilege of being a free-roaming cat. But with these privileges, comes risks and dangers as well.
For my own peace of mind (note: mine, not their...

Cat Pillow Mania…but In An Orderly Manner 17th Feb 2014, by AnimalCare
We had a few orders of cat pillows, so Ginger and Vincent saw (or rather, smelled) me packing the cat pillows and yearned for one too. So I gave them the two existing pillows, refreshed, mind you, with sprinklings of silvervine powder, but no, they were not interested. Too many smells and scents of “those other cats”, they both said.
Oh well, so I had to give them a brand new one.
Here is a brand new cat pillow for you, Ginger.
And being the nice cat that he is, Ginger let Vincent ...

THEIR VOICELESS PAIN
"Close your eyes,
Draw a tight box in your head,
Place yourself in it,
Breath slowly,"
The neighbour next door just being dragged out,
All pens are empty now, but yours,
You are the last they say,
The distant squeals of death have ceased,
You heard your gate open,
You plead for another life in your head,
Wondering what this was all about,
Dragged out,
Struggling and fighting,
You couldn't fight the full grown arms and cold eyes
At your last squeal,
You turned t...

BABIES AND THEIR BLANKIES....
With the snow outside deep enough to easily swallow these little ones, we're so thankful to witness the comfort of these former street cats who are now living at a Harmony Fund sponsored barn sanctuary.
"I'll never forget the day I found them on the grounds of an auto body shop," Harmony Fund Founder Laura Simpson says. "The wind was bitterly cold and they were just sitting in a wet parking lot, waiting for food from employees who sometimes fed them during the we...

WRAPPING AN ARM AROUND THE DOGS & CATS OF JAMAICA
Work began at 4am today. Yes, on a Sunday, the day starts well before dawn. The Harmony Fund has a very tiny team and we're doing our best to reach out to "underdog" animal rescue squads across the planet. This morning we arranged for monthly aid to begin for The Animal House Jamaica, a darling group that is moving mountains to overcome cruelty and an abundance of strays on the island of Jamaica. Here you see Sade, on of the pups getting care no...

Oliver Twist-ing at Kuala Lumpur
http://www.petfinder.my/pets/53289
Oliver twists your toes if you don't give him the stash of catnip you've been hiding in the St Bernard. Being litter trained, he won't pee on your precious carpet -- not until you give him what he wants, that is.
Oliver twists and twists and twists, now where's the catnip that you've promised him?
Oliver, the stripy ginger tom cat with a real charming smile, litter trained and very healthy:
