Blackie And Shorty Are (finally) Out Of The Pound!

If you remember, the big pound rescue operation on 6th February actually started out because two community dogs, Blackie and Shorty, fed by Mary Soh, were captured by the authorities. Mary and her friend, Eugene, went to the pound to look for Blackie and Shorty and saw the other captured dogs, hence, the big rescue operation ensued.

This is Prince... a mature wired-hair JRT dozing off on his throne with his favourite porcupine soft toy. He moved into his new home in June this year.
If you had met him, you would not have known of a badly neglected life he's lived before he was rehomed to a wonderful family.In August 2012, Prince thought a visit to the clinic was simply a check by the vet. Little did he know he was sent to be put to sleep! He's a bubbly and perhaps the sweetest JRT one has ever met.

An Orange Intruder At Midnight!

About ten minutes ago, I heard a cat-alert cry outside in the garden.
Who could it be? Usually, these sounds are made in Mr Zurik and Vincent’s daily head-butting sessions, but Mr Zurik had been and still was on the table with me at the sewing machine all night.

A Cow-Zurik Saga

Two days ago, after I had just come back from the Berjaya event, Cow sneaked out of the grille as we opened it and launched a full scale attack on a totally unsuspecting Mr Zurik.
It was an attack of titanic magnitude and was very frightening, to say the least.
My son had opened the grille to get out of the room when suddenly (and it has never happened before), Cow lunged from inside the room straight at poor Mr Zurik.

Brownie, A Gutsy > 13 Year-Old Community Cat

Brownie must be more than 13 years old this year. She is a community cat who lives in Mary Yap’s neighbourhood and Mary has been feeding her as long as she has lived there. It also took Mary a good four years to finally be able to catch Brownie for spaying (that was many years back, of course).
In September 2010, Brownie was found with one leg dangling from her body and Mary brought her to the vet. Brownie had a leg fracture and an IM-pin insertion surgery was done, subsidised by us.

Suzzie - 7th week of rehabilitation
After pulling through the intensive and complicated operation, Suzzie has been showing consistent progress, balancing herself with a temporary missing limb. Bandage change needs to be done daily and we can tell how fast Suzzie is growing judging from her strength. She is beginning to outgrow her baby teeth (we can feel them sinking in through the gloves when we hold her!) . Chen Chen bought some really cute items for our online auction merchandise.
There are some Simplicity patterns for bags (still with mum, she is studying them).

A kitten was found in an orange plastic bag on 22 February 2014 (Saturday) at about 10.30am, left at the bottom of a blue Town Council trash bin near lift lobby C of Block 804, Tampines Ave 4. A concerned member of the public who had heard the kitten’s meows managed to locate it in the bin and was able to rescue it.
