The Joy Is In The Daily Goings-On 21st Jan 2014, by AnimalCare
Animal companions bring you joy every day.
Last night, Daffodil and Rosie were sharing the chair again.
And Rosie started grooming her mum!
Little brother, Ginger, was nearby too.
Stormtrooper Vincent was by my side, watching all the goings-on and ensuring there is no intruder attack of any kind.
This morning, breakfast was earlier than usual and Rosie arrived late, so I had to feed her in the kitchen.
But nothing escapes (or rather, no food event escapes) the notice of Timmy Two Bowls.

Leena lazing at Kuala Lumpur
http://www.petfinder.my/pets/52840
Leen a is the most laid back kitten. She sleeps, eats, poop, goes back to sleep (repeat x 1000). Get her a few companions and she *might* be a little more active. Kittens at her age should be actively raving every night (or at least WE did!)
Or she's just too old and matured for that, maybe read her a book on philosophy or something...
Leena eats, sleeps, poops, repeat; eat, sleeps, poops, repeat... till the end of time.

Yoda waited forever in our shelter for a family to come along and understand just what he needs. He had his mood swings, and wasn't the friendliest cat we had. We loved him anyway and wanted him to have a place to call his own. He finally found that with our loving volunteer! Read his story here - http://www.spca.org.sg/services_adoption_happyendi ng.asp
Thank you Jessica for sharing your happy ending with us, and for adopting and saving lives!

In Honour Of Dogs 21st Jan 2014, by AnimalCare
Ever since the passing of dearest Uncle Bobby, I seem to have become more of a “cat-person” but I’ve actually grown up with dogs all my life since the day I was born.
With so many cats to look after now (inside and outside), I think adopting a dog is out of the question as it might not be fair on the cats, especially the Patio8. It might upset the equilibrium and they might all run away.
There is a time for everything and everything happens for a reason, I suppose.
But let me p...

Somet Is Adopted! (Marina Mustapha) 20th Jan 2014, by AnimalCare
I think most of us would agree that rehoming is about the hardest part of rescue work. It takes a lot of hard work (and some luck, in fact, LOTS of luck, I think) to find a good home for our rescues. Then, comes the fear that the adoption may not take off and the worst fear is that the adopter does not return the animal to us but does something else.
We subsidised two of Somet’s medical treatment: http://myanimalcare.org/2013/11/08/med ical-subsidy-for-somet-rescued-cat-marina-mustapha s/...

Suzzie – A victim of an illegal snare
We recently received a call about a macaque stuck on a tree at Sembawang Park. The rescue team- Sabrina, Uma and Connor- rushed to help, and found a female macaque hanging helplessly from a tree with her left hand caught in a snare.
Here is Sabrina’s account of the rescue: “We climbed the ladder and I held the macaque safely and securely while Uma cut the snare from her wrist. As we descended down, we were 'greeted' by her troop: the alpha male charg...

Willy The Brave 20th Jan 2014, by AnimalCare
It was dinner time and it seems like Willy has got the idea now – he is dining in.
Yes, that’s Willy the Brave over by the water bowl.
He seems to be eating faster too.
I don’t think “eat” is in Timmy and Mr Zurik’s vocabulary. It’s “swallow” or “gorge”.
Rosie finishes her meal and walks off.
Vincent is also done, and I quickly pacify and distract him.
And what about me????
Before you know it, Vincent hunches his back and W...

Willy Makes His (grand) Entrance!! 20th Jan 2014, by AnimalCare
Willy has been waiting for me at the wooden bench for a few days now. Smart little guy – he knows my schedule. When the Patio7 are eating, nobody will chase him, so he comes right into the porch and waits at the wooden bench. Then, I sit with him as he eats and he knows he is safe.
But the moment he finishes, he scuttles off to the garbage compartment. Usually, Vincent will chase him and this is one thing I have no control of.
But this morning, we achieved a breakthrough!!
Willy came ON HI...
