Chinese New Year is just around the corner!
Many of us will surely be enjoying sumptuous reunion dinners with family and relatives. Please remember to SAY NO to Shark Fin, and it would be even better if we can eat less meat too.
True happiness originates deep within our hearts. Compassion, kindness and the appreciation of precious lives will certainly bring you significant joy and satisfaction.
Have a great celebration, and let's make more friends, not food!

We held our education talk at Catholic High School yesterday morning to a very attentive group of boys. What made this talk stand out from our usual education talks? We got to meet the boys who helped us rescue a kitten stuck on a glue board last October. Remember Smooch? (https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=101517704 26193155&set=pb.26294729815%0d%0a4.-2207520000.138 6031229.&type=3&theater)
Smooch has since been adopted, and we were more than pleased when the school invited us over to t...

Called The Owner This Morning And Was Told That He.. 28th Jan 2014, by MDDB & MCCP Penang
Called the owner this morning and was told that he hand over the dog to MPSP personally as he could no longer take care of him since he will be moving to a flat.
I questioned him then why didn't he try to find an adopter for him instead of handing over the dog to the pound, where he has to suffer being cramped up in a cage with others dogs, and getting injured in possible dog fights?
He said he trust no one to take care of his dog.
Seriously...? You trust none of your friends but you put tru...

DOGS ON DEATHROW: MPSP DOG POUND 27th Jan 2014, by MDDB & MCCP Penang
25.01.14 - My 8th Trip to MPSP Dog
The pound is currently overloaded with puppies and dogs. I was in shocked looking at the many of them that I totally lost count of the numbers. I did my best trying to get all their photos, but sadly I could just get as many as i can.
It's a real pitiful sight seeing them cramped up in cages.
I know that I have been repeating the same message over and over again, but I have no choice eventhough you may think of me as a nuisance. Please encourage more peopl...

DOGS ON DEATHROW: MPSP DOG POUND 27th Jan 2014, by MDDB & MCCP Penang
I am a coward, I admit.
Though I am involved in animal rescues, but never will I dare myself to enter a dog pound. I know that if I ever did, I will be mentally and emotionally shattered.
Today, I made a great breakthrough and overcome my fear. For the last few days, I have heard of so many dogs and puppies captured at the pound. A total of 41 adult dogs & 11 puppies! And since the pound is already at its max capacity, its just a matter of time before each and every one of these furkids will b...

Ichimi The Abandoned Kitten And Ponzu The Golden Retriever 27th Jan 2014, by AnimalCare
A heart-warming tale shared by Mrs Wong: http://www.reshareworthy.com/rejected-kitte n-loves-golden-retriever/
Ichimi the kitten was rejected by her own mother. Lost and alone, Ichimi had a slim chance of survival on her own. Luckily, the orphaned kitten was rescued into a loving family.
Ichimi’s new family has fostered many homeless kittens, so Ichimi’s arrival at their home was accepted by all of the other pets in the family. But the moment Ponzu the Golden Retriever saw Ichimi, he insta...

Suzzie – Follow up
A week after Suzzie was brought to ARVC (Animal Recovery Veterinary Referral Center) ,the swelling on her hand got worse. The Macaque Rescue Team have been heading down to the clinic everyday attending to her. Here's an update from them: " We were even told to be prepared for amputation if the swelling got worse. But we were so relieved when an incision made on her swelling hand shows healthy tissues granulating. The bones on Suzzie's fractured wrist have started fusing tog...

To All Applicants: We Ask For Your Honesty, Please 27th Jan 2014, by AnimalCare
This is directed to all applicants: We ask for your honesty, please.
Surely that isn’t so difficult?
Isn’t it easier to tell the truth rather than make up lies? It’ll come a time when the liar doesn’t remember what she has told us, and that’s when the truth is revealed and we have to blacklist the liar since we prioritise honesty.
Worse is when the lie is exposed and the liar keeps creating all kinds of excuses to cover up the lie. This only makes it worse.
It is mu...

Blackie in Kepong
http://www.petfinder.my/pets/52982
Poor puppy needs a home so that she can celebrate Chinese New Year with you! Blackie was found following the chicken who was trying to cross the road. Why did the chicken cross the road?
Alright, that's just half the truth. Actually a human picked her up before she was half way across the road. No chickens were involved or harmed during the incident.
But alas, the human is going away very soon. So Blackie urgently needs to find a home. Can ...

Adoption Spotlight: Lee.
We found this 3-year-old lovely local rabbit with what looked like cigarette burns. Despite what he's been through, he's lively and strong as ever! Lee deserves a loving home and great family members who will be patient with him. Like most rabbits, he prefers a calm and peaceful environment, and is not a good pet for young children. Are you ready for the 10-year commitment?
Also, show some love to the other equally adorable and lovable animals waiting in our shelte...
