Updates From Imm’s Shelter (from Judy Chua) 4th May 2014, by AnimalCare
It was way back in March 2011 that we highlighted the plight of Imm’s Shelter and managed to raise funds to help Imm get back on her feet. Ever since then, Judy Chua (who helps Imm manage the shelter and the accounting) continues to update us with news and the monthly accounting with full disclosure of funds received and how they are spent. It’s been more than 3 years now.
For this, we are truly grateful. Grateful for the honesty, accountability and the friendship...

Ref: http://myanimalcare.org/2014/05/02/urgently- required-mother-cat-and-adopter-for-2-newborn-kitt en-carolina-keong-may-lees/
On Friday morning, we received an SOS from Carolina Keong about these 2 abandoned newborn kittens. We helped Carolina look for an adopter for the two newborns and one of our readers responded immediately. Carolina brought the kittens to her that afternoon and by yesterday, it was confirmed that the adopter’s mother-cat had accepted the two babies.
Then on Friday...

Look At Bobby Now (3-Legged Cat) (from The Kind Adopter)! 4th May 2014, by AnimalCare
Ref: http://myanimalcare.org/2013/12/21/3-legged- male-cat-for-urgentadoption-bandar-puteri-vet-puch ong/
It was in December 2013 that a rescuer found this elderly (almost toothless) male cat with irreparable nerve damage in his front leg. The rescuer brought the cat to the vet and asked if anyone could take the cat. If not, she would opt to have the cat put down as she herself could not take in another cat.
The vet called us and asked if we could help look for an adopter. If we could, the vet ...

Everything that happens at the patio is an adventure.
There isn’t a boring moment at the patio!
Breakfast was usual this morning. And while the PatioCats eat, Tabs and Tiger get their morning playtime in the garden.
But Tabs is watching someone…
It’s Willy! He is brave enough to come to the bench today!
Willy gets a treat of Monge plus Primal.
Monge is everyone’s staple diet now, but to make it more balanced, I add a few nuggets of Primal Freeze-Dried.
Willy looks goo...

Audrey Hepburn’s Legacy Of Humanitarian Work 4th May 2014, by AnimalCare
As a child, I saw Audrey Hepburn as Eliza Doolittle in My Fair Lady and have since watched it so many times till I know her dialogue by-heart.
But as celebrated as she is as a highly talented and beautiful actress and dancer, she is now most remembered for her humanitarian work and she lives on in the many lives she has saved and touched.
She is my favourite actress and is likely to remain so.
Today would have been her 85th birthday.
Audrey Hepburn passed away of appendiceal cancer in 1993, aged...

78 Year-Old Vegan Bodybuilder Talks About Our Diet 4th May 2014, by AnimalCare
He is a lean, muscular, strong, healthy and happy vegan. He is Jim Morris.
Jim Morris was a competitive bodybuilder for 30 years, and became vegan within the past twelve. At 50 he was a vegetarian, and at 65 he was a vegan. Our understanding of human health continues to evolve and change over time, just like anything else. As science continues to shed light on the health benefits associated with eating less meat and more ‘earthly’ foods like organic fruits and vegetables, more people ...

Vincent’s After-The-Rain Adventure (or, “whatever It Takes To Get Into Bunny’s Place”) 3rd May 2014, by AnimalCare
It was after the rain when I noticed Cow looking surprised towards the roof.
I looked up and….it was Vincent. He was already on the roof, looking for a way to jump down to Bunny’s Place, or perhaps gathering courage to do so.
Quite a number of cats have done this. Let’s see: Mr G, Elmo, Snow White, Bushy Calico, Vincent, etc. But thankfully, all of them were rational enough to know that unless they want to risk breaking a limb, they should NOT attempt to jump down from such a h...

20 BUNNIES QUICKLY SEEK FOSTER "PARENTS" & SPONSORS (UK)
Well, it's raining bunnies at The Rabbit Residence Rescue in Royston Hertfordshire, United Kingdom. This English rescue center and retirement home for unadoptable bunnies is asking for help with an influx of rabbits who must leave a deeply neglectful situation by Tuesday. The back story is long and sordid, but the bunnies needs are quite simple really. They need to taste their first GOOD food in a very long time. They need veterinary care...

Adopter Found For 3 Newborn Kittens! 3rd May 2014, by AnimalCare
Ref: http://myanimalcare.org/2014/05/02/urgently- required-adopter-for-3-newborn-kittens-mayo-clinic -usj-taipan/
We found the same adopter for these 3 newborn kittens (same as the one for Carolina Keong’s kittens). Her mother-cat accepted the 2 newborns, so the chances of accepting these 3 will be good.
We have finally got a response from Mayo Clinic after 3 hours of trying to contact them and leaving messages. The clinic will contact the adopter directly.
Thank you very much, kind-heart...

WHY DO CATS KNEAD?
If your cat is curled up and kneading your lap while you’re petting him, he’s returning the affection and telling you he loves you right back. Unfortunately, this can be quite painful, since the happier he is, the harder he’ll dig in with his sharp nails. Try placing a thick, soft barrier between the cat and your lap, or gently place him on his back and pet his belly if it gets too intense. However, do not punish your cat for this behavior -- he doesn't realize it hurts...

Bunny In A Basket 3rd May 2014, by AnimalCare
Bunny has been really happy ever since I replaced the rusty platform in Pole’ condo and placed the Monge cardboard pieces on the floor.
He likes sleeping on that platform now and sometimes he lies on the cardboard.
It’s all a new exciting discovery for him.
Today, he decided he will sleep in the basket.
Take a look:

More Feedback On Path-Away 3rd May 2014, by AnimalCare
My friend, Julia, adopted an abandoned poodle some years back. She named the poodle Siew Mai and Siew Mai is pampered to the core.
Recently, Mai-Mai had a fungal skin problem and Julia was at her wits’ end trying many products, but all to no avail.
Julia sent me this photo of Mai-Mai, shorn like a sheep because of the skin infection, which caused itchiness and redness.
Mai-Mai feeling sad, lying on Julia’s pillow.
So I asked Julia if she would like to try Path-Away and she did.
Thi...
