Cats Don’t Need Luxury Items
10th May 2014, by AnimalCare

Yes, cats do need proper care and this includes veterinary care, medical treatment, good nutrition, enough space, etc. but they normally do not need luxury items as humans do. For example: A clean tiled floor on a hot afternoon is ideal for a snooze. Can you see Cow? He is inside here. Cow and Cleo simply LOVE this hiding space. It’s better than any tunnel toy that you can purchase from the shops. They like high shelves too. They love tearing up paper too. This brown wrapping paper ...

The Art Of Cuddling Cow (without Having To Get A Tetanus Jab)
10th May 2014, by AnimalCare

Carrying and cuddling Cow successfully without getting an ear bitten off or having to rush to the doctor’s for a tetanus jab is…an art. Step 1: Only do it if you are confident and have NO fear. Step 2: Scoop him up without hesitation, and in a quick semi-circular movement of both arms, from behind. Never attempt to carry him from the front (that would be suicide). Step 3: Hold him in a such a way that his head is close to yours (pressing on your head or hair is wise) and his jaws are...

Bagheera at Batu Caves http://www.petfinder.my/pets/56417 A kind student rescued this charismatic and well-mannered kitty at his dorm area in March. Unfortunately, due to the policy there which prohibits pets, he is being threatened to be kicked out of the dorm for keeping the cat. Urgent adopter needed for elegant Bagheera, who spots a pretty white undercoat with black outercoat fur. Let's find her a home ASAP, before the dorm forces the kind rescuer or poor kitty out. Bagheera with big, mes...

A Puppy Rescue
10th May 2014, by AnimalCare

Recently, we were alerted to a litter of abandoned puppies. We made some calls and a friend volunteered to rescue the puppies. Since no adopter could be found, PAWS agreed to take in the puppies as they were estimated to be more than 2 months old. Unfortunately, one puppy did not make it after two days and two more succumbed after a week. Photo taken when first rescued. We wish to thank the volunteer and everyone who had helped in this rescue. We know how hard it is to get an adult local dog ad...

Pro-Life And No-Kill
10th May 2014, by AnimalCare

One night not so long ago, a lady called me. She introduced herself as a cat rescuer who has been getting street cats neutered for ages. She called because she had just taken in this heavily pregnant cat (“going to deliver anytime soon”, she said) and asked if it would be alright to spay the cat. I said no, please. Let the cat deliver first, and after the babies are done nursing, she can then get the cat spayed. But she argued that it’s a street cat and it would be a greater ev...

A reader from Johor ordered 3 bottles of Path-Away from us, for her dog. Here’s her feedback: Dear Dr. Chan, How are you? Hope everything is fine. We have received the pet sprays. Thank you very much. We tried it immediately on our dog and observed our dog for a few hours and it worked wonderfully, for now. Here is a short briefing on our dog. We adopted a puppy through the petfinder site and since day 1 he has been one busy and hardworking pup. He scratched, licked, nipped, rubbed all th...
