Look what the stork, or SPCA shelter rather, brought in!
One of our hamsters, Mother Nature, has given birth to 4 bouncing babies (for now, named as the 4 Seasons - Autumn, Spring, Summer & Winter), earlier today (2nd July)!
Mother Nature, a Syrian Hamster, was found abandoned in Clementi West, in late June 2014. In our Animal Care Officers’ care, she has since been nursed to health, and is ready to do the same for her tiny toddlers!

Cero is one tough boy. Having endured a broken hind leg, he's still up and strong with a rugged limp. The fracture has healed and thus the limp will be a lifetime companion, but that in no way hinders his survival ability and further enhances his charisma with a 3-legged swagger.

Last week, students from NUS Environmental Studies Programme dropped by at ACRES to learn more about the work that we do. Although they were here for a talk, the enthusiastic students volunteered their time to help out at the ACRES outdoor sanctuary. Some of them helped out to cement bricks whilst the rest helped to prepare food and dietary enrichment items for our animals. We hope that they have learnt more about our rescued animals, their diet and the illegal wildlife trade.
