And The World Cup Fever Continues…at The Patio
10th Jul 2014, by AnimalCare

Indy and Cow ate double portions this morning while Netherlands and Argentina were battling it out on the field… They call us “The Machine”….we’re gearing up for Sunday. You are playing too, Bunny? No, I’m just eating. And how did the machine become such a well-oiled invincible machine? This is their coach. That’s why.

HOW DO ANIMALS PERCEIVE PAIN? Animal Communicator Dawn Allen www.DawnAllen.org offers the following advice for pet guardians who wonder about pain in their pets: _____________________________________ "A few months ago I watched out my office window, day after day, as my horse lay on the ground, her foot throbbing in pain from an abscess. I was doing what I could to relieve her discomfort medically, but hoof abscesses take time to heal. I think I “suffered” more that she did as I fretted o...

Indy’s World Cup Fever
9th Jul 2014, by AnimalCare

You know how it is when we were young, whenever Malaysia played in the Thomas Cup, almost every household, you would see children playing badminton in their porch. Or during the Merdeka Cup, I remember my brother and I played football in our garden too and we even turned our table lamps to shine into the garden as spotlights…LOL! So, do cats do this too? I really don’t know, but two days ago, I spotted Indy playing with a ball we’ve left in the garden for two years. No one has ...

Ginger’s World Cup Fever
9th Jul 2014, by AnimalCare

Once in four years, around this time, I will get a high absenteeism rate in my classes. This year is no exception. It’s the World Cup fever and football-crazy students will skip classes because they are too blurry-eyed to attend classes after spending the wee hours of the night or dawn watching 22 men chase after a ball in a field. Skilfully, no doubt. But it looks like the World Cup fever does not only affect humans. Does it affect cats too? Perhaps it does… Ginger was late for din...

9th Jul 2014, by SPCA Seberang Perai

SPCA SEBERANG PERAI has recently received a tip off that a dog was abandoned by his owner in an empty house and due to their negligence, when found, the dog was already in critical condition and soon enough, the dog passed away. We are truly shock and saddened by such cruelty act from its owner. Photos received shown that the dog's body was fully covered with ticks. It must surely be a long and suffering death. SPCA SEBERANG PERAI has taken action to issue the owner with a letter of warning an...

Oscar And Molly (photo Updates)
9th Jul 2014, by AnimalCare

Connie had always thought that Oscar wanted to be a solitary cat. But she thought she’d just try out and see if Oscar was willing to accept Molly (the day we picked up the Ginger family). On the first day, it was difficult – Oscar and Molly were hissing at each other and Oscar even went on a hunger strike. By evening, things settled and by that night itself, Oscar was already sleeping next to Molly’s cage! From the second day onwards, they were the best of friends! Here are som...

Kitty Marooned On Roof Finally Rescued After 2 Months
9th Jul 2014, by AnimalCare

Please read this: http://www.care2.com/causes/kitty-marooned- on-a-roof-is-finally-rescued-after-two-months.html The moral of the story: If a cat is stuck for too long in an inconvenient spot, it will have no access to food or water. Dehydration and starvation will set in quickly. You may decide to give a cat the chance to come back down on its own.  If that’s the plan, never leave a cat which seems to be stuck for longer than a day or two at the very most.  If it isn’t down by then, it...

Pet owners who are apartment-dwellers, please MESH UP! Of late, we have witnessed a disturbing and rising trend of dogs and cats, from higher-floor households, falling to the ground - either gravely injured or meeting a premature death. Such mishaps could have been avoided, had the owner also taken the NECESSARY precautions. As a general guide, we urge all pet owners to ensure that pet-proofing is in place – by ensuring the installation of proper grilles or wire-meshing on the windows (and...
