Japan Teen Murder Accused Kept Cat Head In Fridge: Report 7th Aug 2014, by SPCA Singapore
In Tokyo, a 16-year-old Japanese schoolgirl, suspected of murdering her classmate, has - in her own words - grown "bored of killing animals". She apparently kept a SEVERED CAT's HEAD in her fridge. This is yet another telling reminder of the strong link between cruelty to animals and human/criminal violence! Studies have revealed that people committing acts of cruelty to animals often don’t stop there — many of them move on to abusing their fellow humans.

"Current data show that the number of hatchlings produced is increasing every year since I joined WWF-Malaysia in 2008. I believe that the education and awareness programmes as well as research work that we had undertaken in the past are showing this small, but
encouraging, result. If we continue our conservation work, it will definitely contribute to bigger changes."

Here's an interesting animal that stole the limelight while the Macaque Team was out taking photo identification of a Macaque troop!
The Greater Racket-tailed Drongos ; with a passing by Macaque in the background, are known as “burung hamba kera” which actually means “slave bird of the macaque”. It is very common to see Drongos following behind a troop of Macaques, picking on the insects as they moved through the forest canopy. They аre conspicuous іn the forest habitats often perchin...

Pig Dog. Dog Pig.
A powerful message by painter Dana Ellyn. Both animals' lives are equally precious, and they are equally intelligent and adorable. Why is one's fate so different from the other?
How the pig would have dearly wished for a dog costume. And how dreadful it would be for the opposite to happen.
We have the power to amend this prejudice, by treating all animals as equals.
Let's begin the journey now. Experience delicious meat-free meals to save lives, health and environment at ht...

SPCA rescues trapped bird from train’s tracks
We were alerted, just the past weekend (August 3, 2014), to a bird spotted trapped under the MRT’s above-ground train tracks, in the vicinity of Tampines Street 21. The bird’s wings were caught within the narrow opening that divided the underside of the tracks.
Our rescue pair, having appraised the situation, used an extension pole - along with some strategy - to nudge the hapless bird along the narrow opening. The bird had to be, suitably ...

Breaking News! Timmy Was Spotted On Monday!!! 6th Aug 2014, by AnimalCare
It’s been more than a month since the day Timmy went missing. I have searched and searched. Flyers have been distributed. Posters have been put up.
The psychics said Timmy would come back and one psychic said he could feel that Timmy is staying with a bunch of cats in a home nearby and that he had no immediate need to come back because he is being pampered, but he will come back one day.
This afternoon, while on my way to work, I stopped at the petstore to collect today’s claim forms...

This post shows the process of reintroducing a macaque to the troop.
In this case, one macaque had been in quarantine for a few days to receive treatment for an injury.
Over time, there was a possibility that his troop may have forgotten him, and attack him as a result.
We needed to work as a team to ensure his safety, the safety of the rest of the troop, and that of our own.
If you want to learn more or find out how you can volunteer at the Lao Wildlife Sanctuary visit www.acreslaopdr.org
