From July 2012 to June 2013, 21,000 Green turtle eggs were saved in Terengganu, compared to 14,000 in 2011. In Melaka, 59,000 Hawksbill eggs were incubated compared to 41,000 in 2012. These statistics mean that the efforts of the heroic Turtle Guardians are paying off.
There were also Hawksbill hatchlings in Terengganu last year, an occurence that hasn't happened for the past 19 years in mainland Terengganu!

As we celebrated our Nation's 49th birthday over the
weekend, all of us in the animal welfare line only hope for one thing - the
better for our street animals. We have been trying to control the population of
the street dogs at a far end of Singapore and majority of the friendly ones

A beautiful small size female dog, already been spayed is looking for a good home. She is friendly, active and makes a good guard dog (with good barking voice).
She has been dumped on the streets with her 2 puppies to fend for themselves. A feeder fed them but she could not seems to get along well with the existing pack and always got bullied.
Feeder decided to spay her then send her to our shelter. One of her puppies has been adopted, while another still pending adoption.

Man Kicks A Cat And Sends It Flying Into The Air 10th Aug 2014, by SPCA Singapore
The New Paper online has featured a video showing a young man (in Ohio, the U.S.) kicking a cat, seemingly a deliberately executed and pre-meditated action to show his attempted abuse of the cat.
The man, who was wearing green trousers and a black t-shirt, then turns around and violently kicks the cat sitting on the pavement.
The hapless cat is then sent flying into the air. Thankfully, the cat got back on its feet and fled quickly from its aggressor.

Despite running a 24-hour Wildlife Rescue hotline for 365 days, we ensure that the animals in our rescue center receive optimal care. While we rescue those in need, there are others who are undergoing rehabilitation prior to their release back into the wild. Providing a range of enrichments are important to stimulate natural behaviors and to ensure they remain wild.
Here's a simple food-based enrichment that we did in celebration of the Nation's 49th Birthday!
