Today, Agnes brought over a bale of cloth contributed by Mrs Lee for the backing of our patchwork blankets. We’d like to thank Mrs Lee for her thoughtful contribution and Agnes, for doing the purchasing and transporting the heavy bale over to us.
It’s of a nice and versatile darker shade, which is very suitable as backing cloth.
Now we have three colours for backing. The blue is finishing and does not need replenishing as we can use the beige and brown for all blankets.

Remember MICKEY, the ginger kitten we rescued from a glue board trap (from Gul Circle) on 7 August 2014? Check out the latest pic of him!
He's recovering well under the care of our Shelter Supervisor and staff, has gotten the glue off him, and might be up for adoption from the next week (early October 2014) onwards....

Bunny Goes To The Vet’s

This morning, Bunny vomited twice. He did not look too happy after breakfast; and he vomited after half an hour. Then, he asked for food again, and vomited again. It was only after one hour that he felt well enough to ask for more food. He managed to retain his third and fourth meals for the morning.

Last week, the ACRES Macaque Team successfully herded a troop of macaques out of a condominium within 15 minutes!
Residents and security guards witnessed the process for the first time. The team quickly reacted with accordance to the macaques facial expressions and body language, while still keeping a respectable distance between the macaques. The macaques have been entering the condo premises due to availability of food.

KUTTY, a rescued Lutino Lovebird, finds love at last (in Saraswati's family)! Better yet, Kutty's found her lifelong soulmate in her canine chum, AH BENG!
Rescued as an injured, starved little bird from Changi (in May 2014), Kutty has been fostered and nursed to good health, under the care of an SPCA officer Mr Kumar.
Kutty has since been adopted by Saraswati's family, and has become, well, unflappable in her spirit and want to add joy and meaning to the household.

Bunny’s Secret Small Meals

I figured one way to give Bunny his small meals is to take him out and feed him in the kitchen. Hopefully, the rest won’t know and won’t ask for food too.
Poor Bunny vomited again after dinner this evening, so I have to give him small meals for the rest of the evening.

Ginger’s Visit

A few times a day, Ginger would sit right outside the grille asking to be let into Bunny’s room.
His wish is granted today…
I let Ginger walk into the room by himself today. Cleo charged at him but Ginger stood his ground by standing tall. I know for sure Cleo will not bite, so she’s okay.
From the bench, Ginger climbed onto the apartment and sat himself down comfortably on Level 1.

SOS! PUPPIES DUMPED @ SPCA.

5 puppies were dumped by two men yesterday outside SPCA. Our staff had to chase one man down and grab his arm to get him to stop. We tried very hard to reason with them, but their last response was "Bring me back the puppies, I go toss them in the river".
Why do people behave so irresponsibly?
