Gibraltar Monkeys 6th Oct 2014, by Animal Concerns Research & Education Society (ACRES)
The root of the human-macaque conflict is mainly due to food availability.
Look no further but at Hong Kong and Gibraltar - they also face similar situations with their native macaques. But alternative and humane measures have been adopted by these countries. Its something we can learn from.
Have a look at one of the ways Gibraltar handles the human-macaque issue and understand that everyone of us have a part to play.

Do you know? Bull frogs are named because the male bull frogs call is of such a deep low tone, it almost very much resembles the 'moo' of a cow? :)
"Never be afraid to stand up and speak for a person or an animal when their well being is at stake; because we may have a choice, to turn around and walk away, but 'they' don't." Education starts from our decisions, you and me =) LET'S DO IT TOGETHER.

Sherlock – Airlines Lost & Found Service 6th Oct 2014, by PetFinder.my
We all know the old saying about things that seem too good be true ... but sometimes we get pulled in by golden ideas anyway.
Such, it seems, is the case with KLM's "lost and found" dog, Sherlock. It appears that the Sherlock video is nothing more than a marketing stunt to promote the airline's new lost and found service.
"The dog Sherlock symbolizes the service we are offering to our customers," a KLM spokesman said in an e-mail to CNN. "It shows the effort and dedication of our Lost & Found ...

SWEETEST CAT UP FOR ADOPTION: MASSACHUSETTS
Iris was rescued earlier this summer and has brought tremendous joy to her foster home in Central Massachusetts. This absolutely gorgeous cat simply can't get enough petting and is so easy to please.
Iris is very ready for a home of her own where she can sleep on the bed, snuggle in your lap and perhaps take a walk in the backyard on the safety of a harness & leash. She does love the outdoors but we prefer not to have her roam. Supervised outdoor t...

Yet another Happy Reunion, made possible by SPCA Officers, beyond work hours....
Off-duty SPCA Clinic Officer, Logeswary Singh, and her husband spotted this male Maltese left on its own, without a leash or its owner, along the main road of Yishun Ave 11, earlier today (5 Oct 2014).
Loges spent close to 45 minutes, following and 'befriending' the dog before winning its trust. She then managed to 'leash' it with her tote bag.
After asking around, she managed to locate the owner who resides a...

174 Australian Sheep Meant For Korban Ritual Did Not Survive Air Flight To Singapore 5th Oct 2014, by SPCA Singapore
We are deeply concerned about how and why 174 sheep imported from Australia for the Korban ritual to mark Hari Raya Haji have died during the SIA Cargo flight from Perth (as reported in The Sunday Times today (5 Oct 2014)).
This was indeed the first time ever that so many animal deaths had occurred in such a consignment.
We have written in to SIA Cargo to ask for a proper investigation.
We sincerely hope that SIA Cargo could, in future, better uphold animal welfare standards in the handlin...
