Thank you for your concerns with regard to the bat we rescued from Diana Lu last week. Diana wrote a FB post with regard to this rescue and, unfortunately, it contains information which is factually incorrect and also misleading. We hope to set the record straight. 1. The bat had severe injuries which were sustained under the care of Diana and not ACRES. Diana had kept this bat for two months and it is illegal under the Wild Animals and Birds Act to keep bats....

More volunteers needed for the Wildlife Sanctuary revamping project that's happening this coming Sunday, 21st September, from 10am to 5pm!
Volunteers from all walks of life came to ACRES to lend their hands recently, and helped us to completed 80% of the work. We only have 20% left to go and we are hoping to finish up the revamp this Sunday.
Please email to volunteer@acres.org.sg if you have time to burn and want to build a better home for the animals at our sanctuary!

This beautiful stray cat was rescued by Joyce a few days ago. It has been sent to Hope Vet Clinic and and diagnosed with diaphragm hernia. Surgery has been done on 16th Sept to correct the hernia. Joyce has pleaded to other NGO for the cat's medical bill, but she needs urgent help to foster/adopt this cat after it discharges from the vet.

Cat rescued from a tree, somewhere in Hougang
Earlier today (Sep 17, 2014), we were alerted to a tabby seen perched on the branches of a tree there. The cat was suspected to be in distress, as related to us by our informers.
Our rescue pair, upon arriving at the scene, appraised how they could reach the cat with a catchpole. (A ladder was readied too which then turned out redundant for this mission.)
