While fruit-eating bats and birds can fly far distances in search of fruits, orang-utans, climbing slowly through forest canopies face a much greater challenge. Using their experience, orang-utans have to track down and be content with almost any type of fruit they encounter.
Help us plant more trees so that our orang-utans won't go hungry, visit http://goo.gl/hkIZft

DOGS RESCUED FROM WARZONE
If it weren't for all of you, I simply don't know how the dogs of Donetsk would stay alive. The animal shelter in this Ukrainian city, close to the Russian border, is trying to care for hundreds and hundreds of dogs and cats. Two grants have already gone over to the shelter and a third is planned for Tuesday.
Among the recent rescues were an elderly dog suffering from mange and a dachshund puppy with broken front paws. The puppy lost his guardian, a young woman, was h...

Do yourself, your loved ones and the planet a favour – observe meatless Mondays. Begin your journey with tasty meat-f...

It is often time tragic enough for an owner to abandon his pet, but worst when the pet abandoned is sick and old.
Colby, a pure breed shih tzu came to our shelter in a very poor condition. There was a big wound, filled with maggots on his right eye and cataract on his left. His vision, sadly, was nothing but a blur.
SPCA SEBERANG PERAI, being a no-kill shelter took him in, hoping to rejuvenate and give him a 2nd chance.
Colby was sent to the vet where he was boarded while receiving treatmen...

SPECIAL AID SENT TO CATS IN NOVI SAD, SERBIA
Thanks to the extreme kindness of a wonderful supporter in New York, we were able to send a substantial donation to the Felix Cat Shelter in Serbia today. Rarely will you encounter a cat sanctuary with so much love and so much consideration given to the comfort of the cats. Each of the cats you see here was taken from circumstances of extreme suffering - although you'd never know it by looking at them now. The sanctuary is run by the indomitable Dan...

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY
A year ago we trapped this cat called Mama. She and her two kittens were living on the grounds of a meat market and taking food from the dumpster. We got an alarmed call by a nearby shop owner who said there was a plan to poison the cats.
Mama and her kittens were all trapped and whisked away to their fur-ever home with volunteer Karen F who runs the feral cat barn sanctuary for Harmony Fund. Only problem was, that the cats weren't feral. So, yes, you guessed it. This photo...

Those Who Fall Through The Cracks 11th Oct 2014, by AnimalCare
While we are doing our best to get as many street animals neutered with the best of our intentions, let us not forget that the neutering procedure does carry some risks, as do all surgeries. In order to minimise the risks, it is advisable to ensure, as far as we can, that the animal is in relatively good health, has been eating well and is of appropriate weight, size and age to go through the procedure. The vet will do a physical examination and it is our responsibility to inform the vet about ...
