Generally, higher or hotter temperatures produce female hatchlings and lower or colder temperatures produce male hatchlings. Climate change which brings about a rise in global temperatures mean that more female than male turtles will be produced. This gender imbalance will affect their population as a whole.
This Earth Hour, help us combat the effects or climate change by...

Public Service Announcement!
There are SO MANY wonderful people who contribute so much to the SPCA and other animal welfare groups.
And then there are the people who SEAL UP 8 puppies in a cardboard box and pay a taxi drivers to dump them at our gate. No donation, no offer of help - nothing. They had not been fed and were suffocating in the cardboard box. What kind of irresponsible and cruel person would do this?
Thankfully one of our fabulous fosterers stepped in to foster them.

HELP THE MACAQUES HAVE A SECOND CHANCE AT LIFE.
Manuka, a young long-tailed macaque, was found badly injured and taking shelter in a backyard. The injuries he had sustained appeared to be due to collision with a vehicle. Despite all our efforts to revive him, he sadly passed away. Not every macaque rescue has a positive ending, but let us recall the successful rescue stories.
In 2013, we managed to rescue, rehabilitate and release Mia, who had suffered a ruptured pelvis, probably due to a coll...

Open position for Program Assistants in hawksbill turtle conservation program in Malacca.

Pet Care Tip: Keep your pet dog hydrated!
Due to Singapore’s hot weather, dogs can suffer from heatstroke and this can be fatal. It is important that you keep your dog cool and hydrated.
Heatstroke occurs when the dog suffers from dehydration, exhaustion and an uncontrollable rise in body temperature. This can happen when your dog overexerts itself and it does not receive enough water before or during exercise.
Also, do not leave your pet dog (or any other animal) in your unattended car....
