Human beings have lived with dogs for thousands of years. You'd think that after all that time we'd have discovered all there is to know about them.
But it turns out that until recently scientists didn't pay much attention to dogs. Dolphins have been studied for decades, apes and chimps as well, but dogs, with whom we share our lives, were never thought to be worthy of serious study.

This female dog was rescued from the streets early this year and adopted by a family. Unfortunately, the previous rescuer found her in bad condition with skin problem, and been abandoned by the adopter because "she is notty and too active". So the owner decided to buy a poodle to take care of their house.
She is not a bad dog. She is just an energetic and active dog who need attention, a walk in the evening and someone to play with (to exercise!) so this will keep her fit, happy and behave.

3 puppies rescued from the street, one of them even fell into a 5 feet deep drain, but was lucky enough to be spotted and saved by a kind gentleman. These puppies will be vaccinated in the next two days and they are fostering by Siew Ling at the moment.

This week, ACRES was graced by an enthusiastic bunch of individuals from the Singapore Boys Home. Not only did they get to learn about our work, they also spent a few hours helping us paint our new night-dens for the sanctuary. The boys also put their creative thinking skills to use by helping us figure out solutions to some issues we were still facing with our night-dens. Our many thanks to them and their teacher, Mr Patrick and we hope they will come back to volunteer with us again.
